Mark Evanier reports on his blog that Shel Dorf, founder of what is now known as Comic-Con International, has passed away.

Sad to hear about this tragic loss.

Though on a more positive note at least Mr. Dorf lived long enough to see his little comic expo grow into the massive media behemoth we all know and love today.

Now that's a legacy anyone would be proud of.
