Rorty rears aro...
Today marks 40 years ago that Scooby Doo made his debut on television. Scooby Doo, Where Are You!, which has been indirectly attributed to Frank Sinatra, premiered on CBS at 10:30 AM Eastern with the episode "What A Night For A Knight." For better or worse, there's been no stopping him since.

40 years eh? Fair play, Scoobs.
Here's a loving tribute that comes with a warning for a little bit of strong language: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eWXMJP1J-3Y

Well, while we're posting SD tributes, that gives me a chance to post a link to the more awesome than awesome Johnny Bravo/Scooby Doo crossover episode. One of the few cartoon crossovers that actually worked.

Forty years is impressive, long live Scooby and Shaggy! And there's still more movies coming out for them, the newest of which is premiering today on CN. I saw five minutes of it, and ugh, live action will never be as good as the cartoon.

A new Scooby animated series starts next year on CN. It's titled Scooby Doo: Mystery Inc. The name "Mystery Inc." was the gang's unofficial name, and was never used on the air in any of the series.

Nah, that one was pretty decent. The one that came after that, "Shaggy and Scooby Doo, Get a Clue." on the other hand was the very definition of...deep hurting!

I liked What's New, Scooby-Doo? quite a lot, albeit mostly because Daphne finally got to do more - a lot more - than get captured or serve as window dressing. Heck, she saved the entire group on more than one occasion. Nice that the writers finally gave her a chance and some respect.
As for Shaggy and Scooby Doo, Get a Clue, I never saw it, and based on what I've heard, I think I'm better off that way. |

Shaggy & Scooby Doo Get A Clue! wasn't awful, just painfully unimportant. It's not surprising that CN hasn't acquired it for replays.
Of the made-for-video animated movies that WB Animation has done the last 11 years, I liked Scooby Doo in Where's My Mummy? best. A surprise ending that floored me.
