Default My laptop may be biting the dust...

So, a few minutes ago, I was using my laptop, browing the internet, playing IWBTG, all was fun.

Then the screen blanked out and froze.
Turned it off, turned it back on...
Computer doesn't start.
Do it again, same thing.

A few minutes later, it starts up...
Freezes at login screen.
Now at Windows XP screen.
Now I send it into safe mode, it works.
Reset, and I BSOD and it resets itself.
BSOD and resets itself.
BSOD and resets itself.
Now I finally get in, it freezes at a black screen when I log in.
Now I finally FINALLY get in, my dad jumps on as my sister's account.
A system shutdown error pops up, telling me to log out and save everything, with a shutdown countdown.

... Then the shutdown countdown, and computer, both freeze.
It's still frozen there right now.

I like laptops, they're handy, but they're trickier to diagnose and fix than desktops. Plus you *can't* replace some parts. Are you going to take your laptop in someplace to be looked over?

My dad has a friend who works on computers, I'm gonna see if I can have him look at it.
I saw the little thing's end coming a mile away though: Freezing all the time, incredible lag, 158 megabytes of RAM...
But still, those things are crazy expensive, and I won't like getting a new one...
I am gonna load the thing up in safe mode to get my files though.

EDIT: Froze on another startup try...

I think a bump may be worthy for this news: Yesterday I dropped it off to get checked.
Haven't got it back yet, but I'm hoping for the best.

Good luck. I've been through quite a lot of computer troubles myself this year. My trusty old computer was quite clearly nearing the end of its lifetime, so ultimately I had to replace it. Hope things work out better for yours.
