Default Pirates of the Seven HOLY YIKES ARGH!

So, I was out running a few errands today, nothing big, when I saw something positively hilarious/terrifying. You know those generic Pirate/knight/rescue worker/soldier/explorer/whatever things that K-Mart, Big Lots, and some other people have? They're 3-3/4" scale, fairly well-detailed, and even have a good enough variety of accessories for kids? Really, they're not bad things to give to a youngster. I noticed the two "Pirate Expeditions" figures (which sadly had been gathering dust), and actually jumped a bit. Want to know why?

The first pack starts with a fairly generic bald pirate. Or maybe he's a Mexican gang leader.

The accessories are kind of cool, too. A sword, a knife, a pistol, a length of anchor chain, a treasure map (unfortunately cardboard), a pickaxe, and a spyglass.

And then there's this.

HOLY CRAP AGH!

Let's give little Bobby nightmares! Really, the pictures do not do this spider justice. It's even textured well.

The second pack is somewhat different.

Here we see a rabid Scotsman with a wooden arm. Okay.

And here are some weapons, including a hawk and an axe/manacle combo that fits into the hole in his wooden arm. Pretty cool, right?

Again, the picture does not do this horrible nightmare justice.

THE WOLVES OF MORDOR ARE COMING FOR YOU, JIMMY

Hey, that wolf is cool!

And I think that spider is Baldy's pet. He's got a scorpion tattoo, he's probably an invert collector. Send him on over to arachnoboards.com, lol.

And when I go to K-Mart I mostly enjoy looking at the disturbing coloring/activity books. Yes, I actually GO there to look at them. They're that good.

Both the wolf and the spider are cool. They're just unexpectedly horrifying, considering all of the other products in that line. I'm sorry the pictures don't really do justice, but the detailing is surprising - the wolf's upper lip is curled realistically, for example.

Those guys are awesome! I always love looking at toys in department stores, my parents give me that "your too old to be looking at that" speech every time, I don't care there fun! XD

At the dollar stores around here (it's a chain caller Dollarama) they have some decent toys for a buck. I'm pretty sure they have some little pirate guys too! I got one of those growing sponge things awhile back, it's shaped like a brain... I keep it in a jar =3

Those animals could very well be made from molds of another toy line. It's not unheard of for that to happen, especially when discount/dollar stores are concerned. Nice finds there, Ridureyu.
