Default R.I.P. Paul Boyd ("Ed, Edd & Eddy" animator)

Animator Paul Boyd, who animated the opening for Ed, Edd & Eddy was killed last Monday in Vancouver, Canada by police after he assaulted them with a deadly weapon in a fit of mental illness. He was 39.

Full story here.

Oh my God D: That's terrible! I can't believe that happened... :[

According to the story, it seems unfair too.

"He compares the man's death to an execution, claiming he was on his knees when the last shots were fired."

That's so sad. :[

This is sad news indeed. I'm not a fan of Ed, Edd & Eddy, but 39 is way too young to die in this day and age. Having come in contact with people with mental illnesses myself, my heart goes out to his friends and family. I know how tough things can be.

I'll continue to monitor this story because there seems to be some big pieces of the puzzle that never made it into the box, so to speak.

I feel terribly sorry for his family and friends after reading this. Someone like Dan Boyd doesn't deserve to die like this at all.

Yeah it's sad to see something so tragic occur, and while I didn't watch Ed, Edd and Eddy, I do recall Paul's work from, "Ahhh, It's the Mr. Hell Show" back in the early 00's and did enjoy that particular show a lot.

Sad indeed.

Mr. Boyd never really got to live a full life (at 39, that's far from old age). It's most unfortunate that something like that happened to him. Fair? Of course not, but anything goes in the real world.
