The Prestige
I saw this GREAT movie this afternoon, and it rocked.
Christian Bale was already one of my favorite actors (because of a certain movie about newsboys, along with Swing Kids and Batman Begins), but he was phenominal. He can play anything, I swear- the singing newsboy, the Nazi Hitler Youth kid/rebel, the hero, a serial killer (okay, so I didn't see American Psycho, because I'm not allowed. Oh, and I don't really want to see my favorite actor go crazy and kill people), and now, a genius magician dude. He's fabulous. A great movie, and I would recommend it to anyone. My DAD loved it, and he hates practically everything. A word of caution- if you do see it, I recomend keeping an eye out for detail. Otherwise, you will be completely and udderly confused. -Marty

...We decided to see The Illusionist today instead of this one. And that's all I know about The Prestige.

Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman are both great actors, and I hear the story is a complex and well-thought one.
I'll most likely see it when it comes to Puerto Rico. That's a hell of an accomplishment, because not much interests me about current mainstream cinema anymore. |

The Prestige was good as well, though. I'll have to see the Illusionist and compare the two, because I'm like that. -Marty

I absolutely loved this movie! I went to see both this and The Illusionist, and I must say I enjoyed this one more. Not that the Illusionist wasn't good, it just was a bit slow in places and the reveal was okay, but nothing like the one in The Prestige! I went to see it with my Dad, stepmom and brother and everyone but my Dad agreed that this movie was superior. My Dad (who actually is an amateur magician) said that The Illusionist celebrated the magic while The Prestige celebrated the trick. Personally, being from the Penn & Teller school of skeptics, that's why I think I prefered The Prestige. It provided a cool explanation of things and everyone gave a really great preformance.
