Default Happy 50th anniversary to...

...The Flintstones, which was TV's first prime time made-for-TV cartoon series. It aired for six seasons on ABC. The highest it ever got in the ratings was 25th. It was said that Fred Flintstone paralleled Jackie Gleason's Honeymooners character of Ralph Cramden so much that Gleason threatened to sue Hanna-Barbera.

Tonight, Boomerang will screen the very first episode of The Flintstones, "The Flintstone Flyer" at 8:30 PM ET, the time period at which the show made its debut 50 years ago.

Cool, will they also show some of the vintage ads featuring the characters such as... This One?
