Aah, ok. I haven't seen Nine so I wasn't sure if there was any significant tie to the "Still the one" line. But it's what first came to my head when you said "Nine".

But haha, Blooregard thinking he's all that on a TV channel is just as funny.

'Still the One' is Channel Nine's slogan, and it comes from the song of the same name by The Orleans, which Channel Nine have been using as their theme song for years, via different arrangements and versions of the song.

I've always liked the idea of American cartoons appearing in Australian TV idents. To me, it gives it an international feel to it. I've been trying to come up with other Photoshop work featuring other cartoons, but I'm just having trouble getting the right images for them. I came up with the idea after seeing a 1992 Channel Seven ident, which features a brief cameo by Raphael from the 1987 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c1jyFt7ztvo

The ident (the first 20 seconds of it anyway) used to scare me as a kid, but after repeat viewings, it doesn't bother me anymore.
