About.com's Top 50 Cartoon Characters
Thought this might be of some interest to everyone:
http://animatedtv.about.com/od/shows...p50chrctrs.htm Foster's didn't make the list, but the Powerpuff Girls did. Some of the choices and rankings struck me as a little odd or unexpected, including a couple of pleasant surprises and a few WTF?? moments. Thirty bucks says you can guess who came in at #1 before you click the link. There's also a comments section if you want to voice your opinion on the subject or speak glowingly about your own favorite character. Pretty good list overall, I'd say.

TV Guide had a list of their 50 most popular in 2001 and the top toon was the same. But this list is as arbitrary: where was Huckleberry Hound, Hanna-Barbera's first true star and Emmy winner? Where was Beany & Cecil, Bob Clampett's seminal pop-culture reference fest?

I was guessing Homer, Mickey or Bugs. I was right (they were all in the top 3).
