Dalton Sandifer, cartoon writer who started with Walter Lantz on Woody Woodpecker in 1957 and migrated to Hanna-Barbera to work on shows like Secret Squirrel, Dastardly & Muttley and Scooby Doo, has died of natural causes at age 89.

Yes, I heard this just today, too. Very sad indeed. That's one long and great life worth remembering though. RIP Mr. Sandifer. You'll be missed.

It's depressing to think that many of the greats from the great cartoons of a totally different time are leaving us like this. animation has really come a long way in over the years, especially over the last decade with cgi and the like. I hope we don't loose touch with what made animation so great to begin with and may Mr. Sandifer rest in piece.
