Indiana Jones
Ok, who here besides Vox & me likes Indy Jones?
Paramount has released the date for the 4th movie: http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/...ianajones4.htm :D |
I loved all three of them. If I had to pick a fave, I'd go with the third, "The Last Crusade", as that was the one I enjoyed the most, especially the scene where Dr. Jones is on the edge of the abyss. Very dramatic. :)
|
I saw the release date annoucement as well. Very cool.
I love all three films. They are the kings of action/adventure blockbuster cinema, and hold up far better than many modern action films. Indy himself is one of my all-time favorite fictional characters. |
"Adventure has a new name...."
I love the Indy series. My fave will have to be Raiders of the Lost Ark. I've always love the gem of a story about when Indy shoots the big guy with the sword. See, that scene was supposed to be a big thing with Indy's whip, but Harrison Ford was sick with dysentery, and could barely handle a whip. So he says, "Well why don't we just shoot the damn thing?" *sighs* "No time for love Dr. Jones" |
The Indy movies were all Much better in a Theater than on the small screen, But they were all great Films. I also enjoyed the Series. (despite it being so short lived.) THe Arcade Game was fun also. but the Atari game was BAD
Monty :-/ |
I have yet to see any of his movies, are they good?
|
Does anyone about the fourth Indy movie?
If so, when does it come out? I'm just curious, that's all. |
A link to the release date is posted on the first post of this thread: May 22, 2008

I've heard about this movie for years, it's been in development hell which is the most difficult stage for a movie to pass and most movies end up getting dumped during this stage. Some films last decades in development hell, this being one of them.
This idea is nothing new, the big concern was making sure the same team including Ford, Spielberg and Lucas were all involved and they are. They've been working in this a long time which is nice because it shows they are going to put some real effort, time, and care into it. The funniest tid bit I heard bout this film was Ford possibly walking due to a complaint over a very STUPID prop problem. Supposedly Ford's agent and the producers were so worried bout his health doing stunts at this age, they were going to not give Ford a real whip and use a CGI whip instead. Ford threatened to walk and called it "ridiculous", demanding a real whip be used again. Far as I know a real one will be used but still, can't help but laugh at how anal and stupid this really sounds. |

I love the Indiana Jones movies. They're all so action-packed and exciting! |
I was introduced to Indiana Jones about half a year ago, and I really enjoyed it. My favorite would have to be the third one. Sean Connery made me laugh so hard in that movie!8D
I'm really looking forward to the fourth one. I'm just wondering if Ford has it in him to pull off one more Jones movie. |
1. Last Crusade
2. Temple of Doom 3. Raiders I heard Ford had the chocie between Indy 4 or SW- spin off with Han Solo. He chose Indy because he didn't want to sit in the cockpit with Chewbacca again.:D |
That report is false; I believe it was reported on an untrustworthy tabloid publication. There is NO upcoming SW spinoff aside from the upcoming CGI and live-action shows(Ford would be way too old to appear in the latter).
Baaack to Indy--I also have "The Last Crusade" as my favorite. :D |
I honestly have never actually seen a whole Indiana Jones movie, I've only caught bits and pieces of the movies. Everyone says there amazing and maybe it was just a lack of interest with the series with me. But I do plan on watching em.
I never did like the idea of unnecessary sequels freaking 10 to 20 years down the road like they have done with other movies. However, if the same people come back and Ford seems very serious on doing this, then I think that's a good sign this movie is being handled properly and not being half assed. |
Indy 4 or Speed Racer who will back down? My bet is Speed Racer, it'd be wise to release it earlier than Jones. Last there was an Indy movie it was # 1 world-wide, tough luck Speed Racer!
|
I hear that Shia LaBeouf has been cast as the son of Indiana Jones. I really don't know how to feel about that. It could go either way. But then again, so can the movie.

Both come out this year and both are supposedly going to be a means of "rating" him as a star. Taking on the legacy of Indiana Jones or just being in a Indiana Jones movie is a big step considering he's had mostly minor roles in movies like "I, Robot" and "Constantine". But I like him so here's hoping he makes the cut. |
Rumor has it that both Willie (Temple of Doom) & Marion (Raiders) will appear in this. Ooh! I hope we see an older Short-round too he's my second favorite character.
Sean Connery has already said he would gett out of retirement if the script is good enough! :D |
....& Indy's sidekick will be played by......
Drum role please!............. http://joblo.com/indys-sidekick-is |

Oi Jones, you slag!
Ray Winstone is a big, burly British character actor, notable for his thick London accent and gruff, aggressive manner. He's pretty famous in the UK for a lot of good TV work, as well as some gritty but acclaimed British movie work (Nil By Mouth, Sexy Beast). He's been in quite a few Hollywood movies of late, though - The Departed, King Arthur, Cold Mountain, and amusingly as the voice of Mr Beaver in The Chronicles of Narnia. He's a good actor. :) In other casting news, Shia LaBeouf was just specualation that has yet to be confirmed, but Cate Blanchett is definitely in - another solid, talented performer.
Nevertheless, I'm still not really too sure what to make of this project. All the right people are in place, the cast, as discussed, is looking promising, and David Koepp (Spider-Man, Jurassic Park, War of the Worlds) is one of the best blockbuster writers out there, but I can't get over the fact that I just don't think that "The Adventures of Indiana Jones As An Old Man" is a very interesting concept. The series was conceived as a throwback to 30s adventure serials, with a rugged, charismatic adventurer battling bad guys in globetrotting derring-do hijinks, and there's a really timeless appeal about the simplicity of that idea. So far, they've been very successful with exploring and adding depth to their characters without interfering with the purity of that concept - making him an old man (with a son, even?) feels to me like they're stepping over the line, trying to add too much and read too much into a character who thrived on his simplicity, just like The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles did by casting Indy as this Forrest Gump-esque figure who seemed to have been present for most of the key events in early 20th Century world history. ::) Of course, with Spielberg,Ford and Koepp on board I don't expect Indy 4 will be anything like as ham-fisted as Young Indy, but I still can't shake my reservations... I hope that made sense. :P Obviously, this might all change as soon as the first trailer comes out (around Thanksgiving, they said); I'm perfectly happy to be proven wrong. Come on, guys - you've got to get this right! |
*screams* I loved Raiders of the Lost Ark
It had alfred molina in it :berry: http://www.thelin.net/laurent/cinema...2971/28653.jpg |
Shia LeBouf has been announced to be in Indy IV. Only a little bit over a year left!
The title will be announced in November when the trailer comes out. |

Thanks. I hope the next year goes by fast. It's going to be a 19 year wait next year, jeez....
|
Sean Connery will not be in Indiana Jones 4. I must say this is sad news indeed.
Here it is in black and white. Oh yeah, there's some other colors too. http://www.mania.com/54959.html |
Shia LeBouf, no Sir Sean?
Indie 4, yer dead to me. |
This sucks. :(
Maybe he liked the script but just dosen't want to do it again. |
That's a shame. He was wonderful in Indie 3.:(
|
Ouch. No Connery for Indy 4, that's going to sting. :wiltshock:
|
In lighter news, Lego has the rights to do Indy Legos.
Guys it's Indy, not Indie. |
And in other news, video footage from the first day of shooting has been released. Here's the link:

First pic! *Drools*
http://www.indianajones.com/communit...0070621_bg.jpg It's cool that Lucas looks like he'll be involved more with this one. Though he should be working on the live-action SW show. -_- |
The next production video has arrived: Indy Arrives!
http://www.indianajones.com/community/news/indyarrives.html |
I'm so excited! This will be the best movie of 2008, perhaps ever! The highest grossing movie will probably be this:
1. Indiana Jones 4 2. Iron Man 3. The Dark Knight |
Quote:
1. Indiana Jones 4 2. Speed Racer (Larry and Andy Wachowski. Nuff said!) 3. The Dark Knight |
Nah, all the Marvel buffs will probably go see Iron Man. Heck, it could be their new "thing".
|
Marion's gonna be in it! Which makes up for Connery's absense!
