Aw, man. I had read he was dealing with Alzheimer's, but the cause of death wasn't mentioned. I'm sorry to see him go. May Mr. Heston rest in peace.

I'm pretty sad myself to see ol' Charlie pass away though at the same time not surprised considering his health condition over the last few years. Anyhoo! This kinda sucks to me personally because by this time, the only "Heston" film I've seen the whole way through was "Planet of the Apes".

All 'n all, it's still sad to lose one of the most highly proclaimed Hollywood actors of all time.

Charlton Heston was probably the most formidable presence in the history of cinema. His lead in the classic 60s remakes of Ben Hur and The Ten Commandments always defined movie heroism for me- calm, resolute and authoritative. Then of course there were those 70s sci-fi classics like Soylent Green and Planet of the Apes that have never been bested. Remember his cameo in Waynes World 2? Epic stuff.

Yeh end of an era. There's a lot of it about.

O.M.G. I feel like a little part of my heart just died. Really-- I loved Charlton Heston in The Ten Commadments and what I've seen of Planet of the Apes. He was always great, and he balanced the late Yul Brenner so well in The Ten Commandments.

Here's hoping he's in a far better place.

Here was a man who was larger than life. I was watching "Ben Hur" the other night. There will never be anyone on the silver screen like him again.
