Default Get Smart

Who remembers this classic comic series from the 60s? Don Adams as Maxwell Smart, who always triumphed over the forces of rottenness, and loving it.

But to be honest, the reason I posted this is because director Peter Segal (50 First Dates, The Longest Yard) is currently filming a movie version of this classic series for Warner Bros and Village Roadshow Pictures. The cast are as follows:

Steve 'She is such a liar' Carell as Maxwell Smart (which I think is perfect for him )
Anne 'I'm actually taller than Steve Carell' Hathaway as Agent 99
Alan 'I won an Academy Award' Arkin as Chief of CONTROL
Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson as Agent 23
Terence 'Kneel before Zod' Stamp as Siegfried
David Koechner (Anchorman) as Agent Larabee
Terry Crews (Norbit) as Agent 91
Masi Oka (TV's Heroes) as Bruce
Ken 'Please, get your balls out of my face' Davitian (Borat) as Shtarker

Feel free to post anything about both this movie and the original TV series.

To give you an idea of what's it like so far, here's a link:

I didn't know the tv show was based on a comic.

Anyway, I'm surprise that Warner Bros. is doing a movie version of this film.

Sounds interesting. I might check it out once it comes out in theaters.

Uh, I meant 'comic' as in 'comedy'. Sorry if I confused you.

I used to love that show! What was it called, the "Cone of Silence" or something like that. Hillarious.

Man, I LOVED that show! That was like, the first tv series I ever watched on a regular basis! The new cast sounds pretty good, though I'm not a big Steve Carell fan. I think the rest are dead-on, though, to the originals.

I remember when they had that TV movie back in the 80's "The Nude Bomb" it was same cast revise there roles. but now 30 years later would not work so well, but it is great that they are making a new movie. I hope it will revise the series and mabe bring back some of those 60 spy flix.

There was an episode where Max and the Chief used index cards in the Cone of Silence. I don't know what episode it was though.

Oh good, that means I am not mis-remembering things.

I would watch the reruns if they aired again.

If anyone wants to express their undying gratitude to me for running this site I would gladly accept a libation of the Get Smart DVD set. Lol because that's probably the only way I'll ever be able to get my hands on it. It's freaking expensive. Worth it, but expensive.
