Default Windows Vista

(No need for anyone to post about how Windows sucks and Macs are so much better, okay?)

Well I just sent in my free rebate for an upgrade to Vista, since I bought this computer in November and they offer a free upgrade to Vista if you bought a computer after October 2006.

Is anyone else going to get this? It came out today. Heard anything good/bad? I'd just like to know more about it.

I hear that is quite the system. It runs smoothly, and it's a lot more user-friendly. If I had the money to fix my computer, which I bought in August, and to buy Vista I'd definitely get it. But it would probably be better if you talked to someone more knowledgeable than me.

I won't bother right now, until I at least get a new computer (which will have one of the editions of Vista). My current desktop likely wouldn't be able to handle it.

My mother(who works with computers) got a free, pre-release copy of Vista... unfortunately, it cannot be used, because none of our current computers meet the Vista requirements.

Vox: Pretty ironinc, not? That's pretty much the "problem" with Vista, it requires too much stuff. From what I heard it's still very good though.

I don't think I'll be getting Vista anytime soon.

I'm sure Vista will be very nice but does anyone out there use Linux? I'm a little wary of committing myself as I depend on this computer for my business and can't take too many risks but I replaced ms office with openoffice (free and easy to download) and am very pleased with it. Gates has taken enough of our money. His business model is so 20th century.

I might get Vista within 5 years from now, just for smoother gameplay. I downloaded the Sonic Heroes Trial, and it was WAAAY too slow. Hopefully that won't happen when Sonic the Hedgehog comes out for PC.

I have Linux at anoter pc, but the problem is, I downloaded it for free, and there's nothing installed with it. So I'm mostly building it whenever I get at my dad's home. I'd say 1. Stick to windows or 2. BUY Linux. Or Mac. Or whatever.
