My so-called "friend" just made such a comment on another forum because I had to turn down a local event with that group because I already had plans to go to the local tarantula society meeting, and she's so insanely popular and sexy over there that calling her on her rudeness would only get ME in trouble. So I have to hold my tongue. She made me out to be a freak in front of everyone. That pisses me off.
I make no bones about it - I will flat out tell them they are rude friendship be damned! I guess that is the military in me. I don't take ***t from anybody - even friends.

Honestly, that kid that got me banned a few days ago. I mean, no offense, but he doesn't have the best ettiquite on or off these Forums.

Online, he used to go into my account when I wasn't using it, send a bunch of messages without my permission and post strange things. Also, I believe he blantantly disobeyed Sparky when she told him to stop doing those things, which led to my temporary removal from the Forums.

He hasn't been part of an online community before, but still...that's not right. It had to be said.

Also, offline, he's a generally a nice kid, but he's kinda irritating in large doses. Ah, well. Just had to get these thoughts off my chest; they've been bugging me for the entire weekend. Feels good to vent.

I was in CVS's magazine isle earlier today. Every celebrity gossip magazine has Britney Spears on the cover again. I'm not a Britney fan and I think a lot of the crap she's been through she brought on herself. However, given that her life has been shattered, her family is falling apart, and there's a distinct possibility of mental illness, I really do feel bad for her. The press and the paparazzi, who are nothing more than a pack of vultures, they need to back the hell off and leave her and her family alone. Enough is enough.

Oh, yeah-Been There, Done That! I don't have the capacity for holding my tongue like you do, though, Sparky. I chewed out a bank employee right before Christmas when she asked me, in front of a large crowd of employees and customers, if I did drugs, after another employee inquired about my spider pin and I told her I loved spiders and kept over 50, mostly tarantulas, as pets. I mean, I went OFF on this women, and with my Celtic temper showing, it's probably a good thing that there was that barrier between us! I get even worse responses, though, when I tell people I have A)snakes, and B)Pit Bull Terriers. Nowadays, people are more open-minded about spiders and snakes than they are about Pit Bulls, due to the media hype. Yesterday, there was an article in an out-of-state paper about a Jack Russell Terrier killing a six-week-old infant, a horrific tragedy, but the reporter just COULD NOT resist throwing in this totally irrelevant piece of information about the family whose child was killed: "The family also has a Pit Bull". Now, what has THAT got to do with the FACT that their JACK RUSSELL TERRIER killed their baby? As long as the media keeps harping on and on about Pit Bulls being killer dogs, even to the extent that they must mention "the P Word" every time there's a dog attack that doesn't even involve one of the many breeds lumped together as "Pit Bulls", people will continue to believe the garbage they hear about them. Just recently, the dog who won the Purina Invitational Frisbee Dog Championship was a Pit Bull Terrier from Canada, and immediately, instead of congratulating him and his handler, people wrote in to their local paper warning that the dog was "evil" and a "threat" and would "turn on his owner" at any time, without warning, and they even used the dog's intense focus on the Frisbee as "evidence" of his "vicious nature"! There were comments like, "if I took my kids to see that competition, and someone showed up with a *&^%$ Pit Bull, I'd leave!" Out of everything that really ticks me off, stupid people top the list!

I'm not much for spiders, but even I can't say a bad thing about owning one of these:

The P. Metallica is beautiful

Thanks, antgirl1. It's nice to know you care.

Ridureyu, I'm not that much for spiders either, but I have to say P. Metallica is a good-looking taranchula. Stunning azul color, and fuzzy. I like that.

What breed is that?

Again, I'm normally not the best friend of spiders... but wow. That is gorgeous.
