Washington and Oregon could both work. This also means the episode "Pranks for Nothing" took place in either Montana, Idaho, Utah, Nevada, or California

There are no beaches in either Montana, Idaho, Utah or Nevada, so that rules all of those states out. No ocean, no beaches, no jellyfish. Mr. Herriman said that the hotel was a seven-hour drive from Foster's, but that's by BUS, and I doubt that old Ford bus can move all that fast, so seven hours by the Foster's bus could very well be more like four or five hours by car. That leaves only northern California, Washington or Oregon as likely candidates, and given the terrain and the proximity to a beach, as well as the weather, Washington state is the most likely locale.

Look again. The sign said "I-5 Freeway"(said in earlier post)
I-5 only runs through Washington, Oregon and California.

And US Highway 15 runs through South and North Carolina; I travel it every weekday on my way to work, and grew up in a house right alongside this highway! Wilt might have crossed it, where it runs concordant with I-95, on his way home in Good Wilt Hunting, but since it's a north-south running highway that starts in SC on its southernmost end(in the town of Walterborough, between Charleston and Orangeburg)and runs to upstate New York, it could not have been on the west coast. It's already been established by the show's creators that Foster's is located in the Pacific Northwest, so that is canon.

EDIT- Sparky now has the screengrabs for "Pranks For Nothing" up on her site, and that particular screengrab in question is right here: http://www.fosters-home.com/screengrabs/6/603-0073.jpg
As all can plainly see, that sign most definitely does say "I-5 FW", with a hyphen between the "I"(which is NOT a "1") and the "5", and the symbol to the left designates a Federal highway, as opposed to a state, county, or municipal road. That absolutely puts the hotel, at least, right off I-5, though it is probably located to the south of where Foster's is located, especially given that the Canadian border is just a 45-minute train ride to the NORTH of Foster's-definitely Pacific Northwest, though.

oops, oh well. For some reason I didn't see the dash. Here's the map for I-5

Who knows, the bus could of have been on that road for the majority of the 7 hours.

A 7 hour drive from Bellingham could possibly put the hotel somewhere in Oregon. Maybe.

I guess it would depend on how fast the bus could travel(probably not as fast as most folks drive in their cars on an interstate) and whether or not Mr. Herriman factored an extended "potty break" into that seven-hour estimation, as to whether that hotel was in Oregon or southern Washington. What would have been a seven-hour trip via the Foster's bus, with all those passengers, would probably have taken a person traveling by car less than half the time to get to the same destination.

On "Bus the two of us" the bus appeared to go rather fast.

No doubt because unlike Frankie, Bloo has no real driving skill, thinks "faster is better", and believes traffic signs and lights are only for other people.

Here's a hint I kind of discovered. The mall in Olympia has a place called "Hot dog on a stick" that sells (rather tasty) lemonade, the logo, colors and uniforms all look exactly like the ones from "Wiener on a stick" on "Store wars"

Hot Dog On a Stick is a national chain. We have them in Sacramento, I don't think the show takes place in Sacramento.
