Sounds to me like she needs to be removed from the bench.

You'd think so, but she's the second-highest paid woman on television, next to Oprah.
Also, there is one way she can get away with it - the actual settlements do NOT come out of the defendant's pocket. It's paid by the producers through a $5K fund for each case. thus, you have the advantage of not only appearing on TV, but also not being out any money if you lose. But this comes at the expense of your dignity, and you get to help give people the wrong idea of how the courts run!

And people will watch this drivel, even knowing all that. Pretty sad, when you think about it.

"The X-Factor", aka us Brits' version of "American Idol". I don't see what's good about people auditioning and singing their hearts out for a million-quid record contract and being humiliated by egocentric judges (including Simon freaking Cowell) in front of the nation. And the end product is always the same: big, manufactured, schmaltzy pop ballad which goes on to be the big Christmas No. 1. Then the "lucky" winner, who will have been promised a glittering career, will be cast aside like rubbish before they know it, so they can just find another bunch of unlucky souls to humiliate. And what beats me is why loads of people are happy to waste their money voting for the winner, when they know it's all just to line the pockets of the record company/judges/management/whoever else. It's grade A trash.

No arguments here. I never could see the appeal of that show. It doesn't even seem to be based on talent either. I seen one girl go from being told she's terrible and asked to leave to being approved and made one of the competitors just because she threw a fit at Simon. I'll pass, thanks.

The Reality Show, Moment of Truth.
God-awful. Watching a man's social life crumble before your eyes is NOT entertainment.

Sounds like it's just another horrid "reality" show. I have no use for that genre whatsoever.

Moment of Truth is a game show. In it, you are asked true-false questions on a lie detector. You earn money if you are truthful, and lose everything if you lie once (or if you're nervous enough to fool the lie detector).
"Have you ever cheated on your wife?" "Have you ever stolen from the workplace?" "Do you look up pornography on the internet?" And worse questions, some phrased in such a way that there is no "easy answer."

Ah, so the show rewards good liars who can fool a polygraph. Yay.

I hope that show never gets aired in the UK. Or should I say, I wish it hadn't been aired at all. What kind of person comes up with stuff with this?
