Not especially. Pixar may be the one behind this. One of the rumors circulating is that this will be Pixar's first live-action film. With their philosophy of story first, profit later, we should have a bang-up JCOM film.
Even if it was to fall into the hands of Disney they are willing to take more chances lately. After Pirates, they're willing to risk budgets on films that aren't PG and market them under their own brand instead of Touchstone or Hollywood. Don't get too down. Every geek knew that no one was going to let an R-rated John Carter get to the silver screen.

yeah, in the books everyone ran around nearly naked. I seriously doubted they would have an entire movie where everyone was in the buff, but the outfits need to be suitably skimpy.
JCOM could either be a light-hearted adventure story or (ideally) one where John Carter literally wades through gore with sword and pistol in hand hunting for Dejah Thoris. It could go either way, but i feel they are leaning towards "light-hearted". Shame. JCOM could have been a cross between "Barbarella" and "300".

Foster's, "Seeing Red". I was looking for a particular screencap; after I found it, I stopped to watch. Always good to see Red again.

After reading SGYDK's last post, I had to go watch that old episode of Astro Boy where that robot "Bruton" battles the strongest robots in the world. I forgot how good that show was.

I tried watching Astro Boy and I just can't seem to get into it. I dunno what it is. I think it might be that I'm annoyed by the voices and overall silliness. It doesn't seem to have the natural balance that Gigantor has.
Knowing the origin of this show I know this is borderline blasphemous to many, but I don't know what to say.

Sailor Moon, Episodes 13-15. Episode #14 (#11 in the English version) was where I really started to get into the series; it fully introduced us to Nephlite, who I thought was a more intense and compelling villian than Jedite. We also meet Zoycite, who is a male in the original Japanese version but is given a female voice in the English dub. I remember what's coming up in the next several episodes, specifically the relationship between Nephlite and Molly, and I'm very much looking forward to seeing it all again. It was a very compelling storyline.

Transformers G1 Season 1 A Plague of Insecticons. I love this show! And I just had an urge to dig out my season 1 dvd set to watch the insecticons in action. I never really cared for them as a kid in the 80's, but I've grown to find their antics almost cute.

Code Monkeys: Super prison breakout
I had heard about this show and it looked like a unique idea but I never paid it much attention. Thankfully I was happy to be proved wrong and see this show finally, it was HILARIOUS! It's like Family guy humor mixed in with video games, pretty accurate depictions too. The content is not as dark and dirty as Drawn Together but it's pretty close and REALLY funny. I highly recommend checking it out.
