Teen Titans: Revved Up

One of the so called "wacky episodes" of the series, this one was all right, pretty good but not grand or great. I was very pissed off to see all the old familar villains in the race being reduced to mute, non speaking roles.

And while I loved seeing Red X again and Starfire's bizarre love of chickens, there's only so much lame beatnick dialouge a person can take.

Simpsons. The one where Milhouse's parents get back together and he and Bart try to stop them. Milhouse never fails to make me laugh.

Law and Order: Thrill

Yeah I know, no surprise here what I watch on my days off. Either way this episode truly rocked my world. Really dark stuff and some serious issues here, it was about 2 young teens who murdered a delivery boy simply for thrills.

Hence the name. It was a much older episode and I personally dislike the character of Nick Falco before Ed Green came onto the show but still, it was an amazing episode.

Inspector Gadget - The Japanese Connection

A classic episode for a classic show. I remember seeing those ninjas (or The Welcoming Committie as Gadget called them), always head butting each other!! They still make me laugh!

Flash Gordon

Good Lord, I've never even seen the original and I feel disappointed by the unfaithfulness of this update of sci-fi classic. No spaceships, an unthreatening Ming, an overabundance of Canadian scenery, and actors that were so wooden they make Keanu Reeves cry. I mean they delivered their lines in such a monotone they could put David Duchovny to sleep.

One can hope they improve the show as time passes, but I wouldn't hold out hope. If they cancel the show this Friday perhaps we could have a good reboot in 5 years.

As everyone knows a John Carter movie is in the works over at Disney. Rumor has it that Brad Bird is attached. I've got my eye on this one.

Last show I watched was the latest offering from Film Roman Animation, Slacker Cats. Pretty much a ribald Garfield. That doesn't mean it didn't get a few laughs out of me. After the forced laughter of such shows as Trippin' the Rift and Lil' Bush, this was a welcome relief. The fact that some of the lines are acutally quotable such as, "Living inside a corpse is kinda horrible." "Yes, but neither of us could have forseen that," warrants at least a second look in my opinion.

One problem I had with the show was the scheduling. It was on for a full hour, but it was just the premiere and an encore. An oddity for a midseason replacement. Usually a full hour means premiere followed by the second episode and repeats start the following week. The only reason I bring this up is that it seems that they only have a small number of episodes in the can. Possibly less than the usual 12 episode season.

Anyway, in a sea of reality junk and 80 hour marathons of people making fun of Flava Flav, you can do a lot worse than this. Give it a watch. I give it a B+.
