I would dissagree with most of this myself. I have not been keeping great track of this thread so sorry if I am a bit out of context.

I find Cheese a good character, He is not one dimentional unless you think all 2 and three year old toddlers are one dimentional (which may be true hence your opinion) I think cheese has a personality of a toddler, over the memorial day holiday we had house guest that included a 3,4 and 5 year old on top of our 2 year old. and there was many cheese moments. ("I wanta go to the Falls", "But You said, You said", "I want a Crabby patty[while fiddling with an empty bun, and eating grilled chicken], "WWWHHHHHAAAAAAAAA"[fo no reason]

As for goo, I like her, she is one dimentional in the aspect of the steriotypical overactive fast talking kid, but she is fun. I am not going to talk more on goo right now since I do not feel like butrassing my points.

But what I actually disagreed with the most was the use of cheese as a Plot device, if anyone is a plot device (in the maner you described/paraphrased) I would say that that would be CoCo. Who actually as I said in a different thread abou a month ago never really had her own LimeLight. So in essence they have been leaving her as a one dimentional character, and then they use her eggs to conviently move plots along by producing the needed item in the nick of time.

Either way back on topic, I liked this episode, I thought it was great that Jackie finnaly showed his personality, Taking Madam Foster to court over a Sandwitch that was not his, was not made by him, But it had his name on it(by Him). And he won not only a sandwitch but a soda and a bag of chips.
...[ more to say but I am a bit distracted today.]

I know a lot of people don't like Goo, and she can admittedly be overbearing, but I'd take her over Cheese any day, because she is at least an actual character with some depth and identity. Cheese on the other hand, as Ub3rD4n hinted at, plays more like a plot device masquerading as a character, merely a construct that the writers use to create lunatic gags and situations. I guess there's nothing wrong with that, but it means that there's nothing inherently interesting about him as a character; the onus therefore shifts entirely to the writers to give him something crazy, interesting and funny to do, by way of compensation. Neither "Mac Daddy" nor "The Big Cheese" would make my Top 20 episodes, but at least they both found imaginative ways for Cheese to cause trouble; by contrast, "Cheese A Go-Go" had him running around screaming the same two words for 22 minutes, and for me that just doesn't cut it.

I actually watched this episode on Comcast demand (love that feature) last night and I remember I originally bashed this episode and gave it a rather negative outlook in comparison to "Buck swaps here". Now that I have actually seen it a second time, I have to say I liked this episode better.

The thing is, I find one of the best qualities of an episode of any good show is it's replay value. If you can find yourself wanting to watch it a second time and really enjoying it, to me, that's a good replay value. I watch Foster's whenever I can but some episodes I try to see more then others.

"Cheese A go-go" actually has alot of replay value because it's constantly going, there's so much happening in the episode and moving quickly that it's hard not to get sucked into watching it. The fast pace of the episode really keeps my interest and I love any episode that gives Frankie a good spotlight.

Actually Frankie has been getting pretty good air time lately, showing up as Cheese's "sidekick" for a second time, she actually plays off his antics well and it gives her a good chance to come on the screen more, so that's fine by me. Frankie did go through Hell here but it's still Frankie air time no matter what's going on with her.

And I'll never stop smiling every time I think of Khones getting pissy with Madame Foster in court, and Eduardo drugged out of his mind. I couldn't stop laughing when Ed was licking the spot where his tooth was removed. It's gross in a way, but when you just watch him do it, it's hard not to laugh.

The only things that I really just didn't find funny and left me feeling "bleh" was the hobo guy and Cheese's revealing to where he was going. Neither of those were funny to me and just felt like jokes that really didn't hit home with me. "Buck" was good but again, replay value helps alot to get into the episode and being able to enjoy it again and again.

It really helps to see an episode a second time, it REALLY does. I also want to say that I have never found Cheese that annoying until he hits those really high pitched screams, like the high part in the security code in "Big cheese". But if I can tolerate that, hearing Cheese saying "gotta go" 40 billion times is hardly going to make my ears bleed.

You know, come to think of it, I never really like this episode after I seen a second time. Cheese was annoying with "Gotta go" stuff. The main characters here didn't have their best day ever. The people in the episode that were against the Foster gang is the people I dislike in the ep. The lives of the Foster's gang hasn't been going well at the moment. I don't like the Foster's gang going to jail at the end, knowing that Frankie, hopefully, has enough money to free them. To tell you the truth I don't the police at all in this show. That's the truth there. I actually feel sorry for the Foster gang in this ep.

montitech: I dunno...Cheese's behaviour is defintiely very toddler-like, but to compare them too closely doesn't give toddlers enough credit, or gives Cheese too much. Sure, little kids often act impulsive, crazy, loud and demanding, but you always feel that what they're doing stems from a spark of intelligence, and that they do have a real persoanlity and internalised worldview, no matter how primitive and nonsensical it might be. I wouldn't say that the same was true of Cheese, to be honest; he doesn't seem to have any thought processes at all, instead running around doing things in a manic, instinctive yet fundamentally braindead way. I guess one could describe that as a personality (in the same way you might say black is a colour, or zero is a number), but you could hardly say it was one with any level of depth...

I've got to disagree with your analysis of Goo and Coco, too, actually, because I find that both of them are a lot more nuanced than people give them credit for. Goo, in particular, is a character who I really feel has tangibly developed over the course of the series; at first glance, she does indeed seem to be the archetypal hyperactive nutjob, perpetually swept up in her own stream of consciousness and oblivious of the world around her, but over the course of "Go Goo Go" she gradually came to reveal her hidden insecurities, the fact that she knows she's a kook and the way she uses her hyperactive imagination to compensate for her loneliness. Since being accepted by the Foster's crew at the end of that episode, however, she's really progressed a lot; with friends surrounding her now, she's learning how to channel her imaginative energies into productive outlets (her work as an unofficial liason officer/organiser for the house), and indeed has developed a lot of pride in herself and her talents (the way she comes to the rescue in "The Big Cheese", or her obsession with winning in "Make Believe It Or Not"). That's an actual character arc, and Foster's doesn't normally do many of those, so I'm impressed. Coco's trickier, because as you say, she's never really had a dedicated spotlight episode; the closest she's come to one was "My So-Called Wife", which saw her acting in an uncharacteristically lunatic, illogical and, dare I say, Cheese-like way. That's misleading, because from her supporting roles in other episodes the impression I get of Coco's personality is a lot more textured; in fact, I frequently feel that she might actually be the smartest and most mature of the central friends. She's certainly headstrong and emotional, the one quickest to anger when crossed and quickest to seek retribution (see "Cuckoo For Coco Cards" and "Crime After Crime"), thanks to a slightly sly and devious side, but she's also got a maternal nature ("Who Let The Dogs In?", "Good Wilt Hunting") and can be a little sensitive too ("Cuckoo For Coco Cards" again, but also "The Big Picture"). Sure, sometimes she just acts nuts, and sometimes her egg-laying can be used as a bit of a deus ex machina plot device, but I still think she's actually a deceptively rounded character.

Back on topic, though, I've recently rewatched most of the series again, and I agree that a second viewing can do a lot to your perception of an episode; it really cemented my views on a lot of classics (the likes of "Bus The Two Of Us", "Room With A Feud" and "Frankie My Dear" just don't get old) and gave me renewed appreciation of a lot of ones I'd overlooked ("Neighbor Pains", "The Big Picture" and "Go Goo Go" are now amongst my favourites, whilst "Hiccy Burp", "The Big Cheese" and "Land of the Flea" are much better than I remembered). Still, there were a few that still didn't really click with me even after a second viewing, and "Cheese A Go-Go" was one of them (as well as "Partying Is Such Sweet Soiree" and "One False Movie"). There are some funny bits there, but I still just find it too fast, too manic and too plotless...

Is this the first time they've used Madame Foster's first name?

Stoned Eduardo and Khones made this episode one of my top favorites.I wasn't paying much attention to the plot though. I guess I should watch it again before making a review.

Hold on now, they used Madame Foster's first name? What was it? I missed that!!!!

As for Cheese, I never really wrote him off as being useless, unentertaining, or an uninteresting character, just that in comparison to the other Fosters characters, he is. I always saw him as a perpetual toddler. If you want a better appreciation of him, I suggest seeing the "Ideal waste of time" music vid on Youtube with him in. It helped for me. And, of course, he does grow on you after time. He's very much like a (very) younger brother.

I too, am kind of sad that Coco can't get much of a limelight episode, due to her lack of intelligable speech and fluctuating lucidity (My So Called Wife being on the crazy end of the spectrum).

Also, I reccomend to anyone who doesn't like a certain episode of Fosters to rewatch. It can do wonders.

Not for all of them, unfortunately.

Default ANNOYING!

Cheese was annoying saying gotta go the whole episode! The only other thing he said was no and only said it once. Next time they make a foster's w/ cheese leave out the screaming and reapeating.

I solemnly agree with you. Or better yet, NEVER make another Cheese episode. I prefer Goo over him any day of the year. XD

Yep, that's the truth. I actually rewatched "The Buck Swaps Here" today and I ended up enjoying it more than I did the first time (that's probably because I had the sound up this time, though! XD), but I rewatched "Cheese A Go-Go" as well and I still couldn't stand it even after the second time. In fact, I disliked it even more! I guess some things just don't do better the second time around, but it's all just a matter of opinion.
