Fango. What a cool magazine. If I actually had time to sit down and read magazines, I'd read that one. Anyways maybe I'll try to catch this movie this week by myself, unless my brother still wants to see it. But I hope the film doesn't vanish from theatres before we can go.

The pale man was AWESOME!! I loved that part so much. Poor Ophelia, though. I feel sorry for her actress. That dude was actually in a Pale man suit. He wasn't CGI. She saw exactly what he looked like, and boy oh boy would that freak ME out.

So did I hear right about Pan's Laberyinth winning the Oscher for best foreign film, or something? If so, the movie has my congratulations.

Alas, the Best Foreign Language film award went to "the Lives of Others", but Pan still picked up a handful of Oscars for Art Direction, Cinematography and Makeup.

Yeah, just from what I've seen, it deserved mega-props on the makeup! It really goes into detail about it in the magazine, and tells about all the stuff the actors had to go through to look that way.
SO awesome.

Well, doesn't look like we'll get to see this in theatres. It ends its run at the Crest Theatre this Thursday, and Saturday is the earliest GM and I could go together. I'd go alone but they're only running evening shows this week, and I refuse to be in downtown Sacramento after dark by myself. It's kinda scary down there. Oh well. We'll rent it when it hits DVD.
edit: Actually I/we might be able to see it in a nearby town. We'll see.

*crosses fingers for Sparky* I hope you get to see it!
I don't mind waiting for the DVD... since I can't see it in theaters, it's all I have left!

I saw Pan's Labyrinth the day it came out here in ATL. It was great. It was really gritty.

Saw it. It was really beautiful, and I believe the director was trying to show that no matter how frightening the imagery of the other-world, that the real world is really much more violent. The only thing that really bothered me was the lady in the audience who brought her children; the little one whimpered throughout much of the movie. That was just wrong. "Look, a fairy tale, in Spanish! The kids'll love it!" (They spoke Spanish.)
