The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
National Lampoon's: Christmas Vacation Farce of the Penguins I have only 4 words to say about "benjamin button" GO SEE IT NOW! It is without a doubt, one of the best and most tear jerking movies I have ever seen in my life. It is without a doubt truly spectacular.

Muppet Treasure Island
Although this is certainly an entertaining adaptation of the Robert Louis Stevenson (bows in veneration) classic, as Muppet features go this probably rates as one of their weaker installments (of the theatrical films, anyway)...if only because its greater strengths owe considerably more to the input of Tim Curry than they do that of the Muppets themselves. Tim Curry is really what makes this movie - he's utterly fantastic as Long John Silver, and he gets the film's most enjoyable musical number to boot. The Muppets, by contrast, go somewhat short of particularly stand-out moments in this one. Here are a couple of my main observations/reservations: *) The whole "Cabin Fever" song sequence - very obviously filler, but it's fun enough, so I won't really complain. *) I can remember a critic commenting that the film appeared to have difficulty accommodating the Muppet characters to the story - to a large extent I agree, and I think that the film itself is quite aware of this weakness, as reflected in the sheer volume of supporting characters who openly comment upon how superfluous and arbitrary their roles are here. It gives the whole thing rather an awkward tone, particularly when contrasted with Muppet Christmas Carol, which did a much more decent job of matching the pre-existing cast with more-or-less functional and appropriate roles. Oh well. It's still a good film, and it was well-worth enjoying the Muppets' run of big screen adventures while they lasted. After this, there was only Muppets In Space left to go...unless you count Elmo in Grouchland as a Muppet flick, that is.

"You get nothing, You Lose! Good Day Sir!"
Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory.
For pure camp value nothing beats Gene Wilder in a purple coat and top hat talking about evil and danger while various scenes of indescribable things are super imposed over the film. And to think this was and still is classified as a "Family Film"

Eagle Eye
This movie is always fun for me to watch. Even though it borderlines real life fears/paranoia, and total science fiction fluff it still manages to thrill me and I never get tired of seeing those awesome over the top car action scenes when they get in the traffic light chase. I just heard the director of this movie is planning a weird new more "mature" version of jack and the giant beanstalk called "Jack the giant killer". Needless to say I'm more then a little curious to see what this would look like.

Rock and Roll martian!
(Note the preceding joke will only be funny to people who have said episode of Mystery Science Theater 3000, those who have not seen said episode will most likely feel a mild bout of confusion and slight uncomfortableness. If those symptoms persist for more then a day, the only cure is to seek out the episode on Youtube.com or your local chapter of Amazon.)

Ghostbusters 2
Gran Torino I actually saw these on Sunday but still. I always felt no one ever gave GB2 more credit, I think too many people ignore it and pass it on simply because it can't match number one supposedly (few films can anyway). But "Torino" OH MAN WHAT A FILM! This is easily the best Eastwood work I have ever seen. Beautiful story, simply yet effective and pretty damn funny too, great humor in this film and some excellent characters. The acting the writing is perfect as can be and the emotions this movie runs through you are quite powerful and moving. There is a touching story mixed with humor and drama in this film and I loved every bit of it.
