What ticks you off?

Okay, here's something that sounds kind of stupid, but is really grinding my gears right now: the fact that there is ZOMG breaking news about a dude on the thruway with a gun, sitting in his car being broadcast on all the news channels here right now...and it's been being broadcast for 2 hours now. And NOTHING is happening! The guy is just sitting in his car, no one's doing anything. Yet they won't stop broadcasting it. So now I can't watch The Big Bang Theory or How I Met Your Mother. Instead, I can watch a whole lotta NOTHING happening while the newscasters literally blabber on about nothing, because, uh, duh, nothing is even happening, and they just want to stay on the air all night or whatever. I don't know. Seems stupid of me to be ticked off at this, but jeez.

This happened to me today that I'm not happy about at all.

My older sister was gone this morning therefore leaving me to feed all the horses, and she wasn't supposed to leave for work until 2:45 PM.
But it turns out she picked up a 9:00 AM shift and she didn't even tell me.

When people post parts of a "saga" on a forum, but post them as separate threads...why? If they were all together people wouldn't be so confused. People do this a lot on the tarantula forum I mostly go to. So like someone will post about how their new t is acting sick, then they'll post an update as a separate thread a few days later ("remember my t that was sick?") and then another update a few days later in a separate thread....and every time people (if they care) have to ask for a link to the previous thread(s) so they'll know what's going on. Not everyone logs on every day and will remember every single thread. I dunno, it's just really bothering me. Just go post in the original thread already!

There are certain TV shows which are just hyped to death, IMO. It's like, every 5-10 minutes, in every ad break, there'll be a trailer for a certain show (usually something like "The X Factor" or "Britain's Got Talent"), and it's like, "I know it's on, and probably a zillion people across the country will know it's on, so stop it already!" And I've noticed that these hyped up, "oh so big and action packed" shows usually turn out to be a load of utter crud.
And in relation to that, I can't stand it when, on these shows, they over-dramatise it (quick, flashing montages of upcoming moments from the show, OTT announcer saying stuff like, "It's BIGGER! It's BETTER THAN EVER!", and playing cheesy pop ballads in the background when someone fails to get through to the next round). Yeah, I'm kind of singling out the talent shows with this, I have to admit. Although last week it was nothing but "Champions League Final - Man Utd v Chelsea".
It's not just TV, either. I'm getting tired of over-hyping of certain music, too, because once again, the music is usually cookie-cutter, manufactured pop crud (if I hear Flo-Rida and T-Pain's "Low" one more time, I will destroy the radio that's playing it). One exception though, last year there was an advert for Biffy Clyro's brilliant "Puzzle" album. Of course, it was on late at night. You'd never get it on prime time TV. Then again, I guess that's what t'internet's for.
Clearly, I'd say it's a case of quantity over quality. They just don't have a clue. And I do wonder sometimes if this over-hyping will be the death of TV.

Oh man BBF, I hear ya. Way-over-played ads on TV and way-over-played songs on the radio drive me absolutely nuts sometimes too. Especially when you can't really escape them. I'm really not picky about music, but among my most listened to is soft rock and pop and oh yeah, some of those songs end up being played EVERYWHERE. You can hear them on three or four different genres of radio stations, so even though I'm listening to something "different", I still end up hearing that certain song. And it's played on TV shows/movies in the background. And it's played in TV ads. AAANNNDD it's played over the intercom at the market. Ugh! There are some songs that, even though they are a number of years old now and I rarely hear them anymore, I STILL feel nauseated when I hear it. And I make a mad dash to change the station before I get sick.

Ugh, I know what you mean, Lynnie. I felt that way about "Lonely" by Akon and "Hey There Delilah" by the Plain White T's. The ironic part is that I have "Hey There Delilah" on my iPod now... Hey, this summer it was annoying but this school semester, it got better. Maybe not hearing it over and over no matter where in the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic I was for a while helped.

Anyway, what ticks me off... getting a shot in the hip. I got the first of the three Gardasil shots this evening. (It's that shot that vaccinates women against the four types of Human Papiloma Virus [HPV, and sorry I misspelled it] that cause cervical cancer.) And it had to be in the hip. Sparing details, I don't like shots much anyway, and in the hip is even ickier.

And like I just said on DA, I inject insulin in my hips 4 times a day - when you're doing it yourself and you do it just right, you don't even feel it at all. But I would never want someone ELSE to shoot anything into my hip. Nope.

kittens. its bad enough when i have one trying to destroy the cord on my controller, climb all over the house and me when i eat, and spaz out occasionally, but i have two. neither of which i wanted to begin with. simply put it is never a fun moment. i dont think ive truly rested from them since i got them.

also storms. they dont ever end. and they happen weekly. unless theres a tornado or something.

My mom's dog chewed up the cord of one of my really nice Sony Playstation controllers.
