She wasn't a "demon seed" but, once (when I was an adult, mind) my dad forced me to go next door to meet the neighbor's college-age daughter because he wanted us to be friends. We had ZERO things in common and it was extremely awkward so I went home. I mean, who the hell forces their adult kid to go try and make friends with some stranger??

Haha! It's like a playdate your mom would arrange when you were a kid, only 10 times more awkward because there aren't Legos to distract you and give you something to do in the painful silence XD

What ticks me off is my grandmother... I love her to death, but she is so disapproving of everything I do and she's always really mean about it. I got bats tattooed on my back that I was SUPER excited about, and I showed them to her. Her response was "Oh, those are nice!" and when I turned around to talk to my mom, she made the "gag me" face behind my back. Rude much?

Plus she makes it no secret that she's "Totally ashamed to be seen in public with me." I'm one of the nicest and most respectful girls you'll ever meet, but she still won't introduce me to people she knows because I have blue hair and for lack of a better word, "crazy" makeup.

Meanwhile, she ignores the fact that I'm 20 years old, not some rebelling teenager, and I KNOW when to "tone it down a notch" for certain occasions because I'm respectful to the fact that some people (especially older people) are not comfortable with the way I look.

Like I said, I love her with all my heart, and of course she's family, I just wish she'd be a little nicer to me. I'm definitely not rude to her. I guess the reason it drives me so crazy is because I'm really, really close to her and she KNOWS I'm not some troublemaker.

Maybe it's not so much her, but just people LIKE her. Superficial people that think just because I dress kind of weird and whatnot that I'm some kind of hooligan that can't be trusted. Bleahhhhh.

Oh, and lol @ your post, Ridureyu. Not lol @ your status, but really, the sad face in it is hilarious!

You have my sympathy. Both of my parents were like that, at least to some extent, as is my brother. It's really sad how people don't look beyond appearances and whatnot to see the person behind the clothes or make-up.

For what it's worth, I happen to think your blue hair is quite attractive, and I'm sure I'm not the only person who thinks so.
