Oh yeah, he's become the bad friend over the seasons. I mean, a lot of the time he's the antagonist (he's even been a villain, Lord Uniscorn), though not in the way that he wants to spoil it for everyone, really, just in the selfish way where he wants to get what he wants

As for if Bloo knows death... I think he realizes what it IS. He did know you go to jail if you kill someone XD (though, in Herriman's case it wasn't murder, more like manslaughter) He even knew CPR. And since we don't know where Mac's dad is, we could also assume that he might've died in the five years Bloo's been around
