He's basically familiar with Flash programming and is therefore knowledgable enough to extract the game components. I've met other epople online who do the same thing, just because they can.
 I haven't reached that adventure, but I have also had the game crash when speaking to Ed, when doing favors. So yeah Ed's got a cootie or something.
