This is Spinal Tap
I?ve lost track of how many times I?ve seen this film exactly, but it?s always great for a repeat viewing (the pretentiousness and ineptitude of those heavy metal rockers never gets old; neither does all that business concerning Ian Faith and his cricket bat - in fact the film as a whole remains remarkably timeless), and last night I finally got to see it on the big screen, courtesy of my local student cinema, which was a treat. I would say that my favourite moment is the Stonehenge sequence, if it wasn't the most obvious choice...so I'll go instead with Nigel's demonstration of his haunting new classical composition. D minor really is the saddest of all keys, isn't it? Instantly makes me want to weep. Classic with a Captial "C".

Ratatouille
Best animated feature of the year! It was spectacular; Quirky story, gorgeous style, great characters, great music, nice theme and motifs, very fun to watch. I saw this film when it was still out in the theaters, but rewatching it has reminded me of why I'm currently plugging it in my signature. This film really deserves to be the Best Animated Feature of the Year simply because it lives up to the standards of a good film. Btw, the short film included on the DVD, Your Friend the Rat, also merits viewing, as it is both informative and entertaining, and also features Remy the rat and his brother Emile singing. Any good educational film with singing things, whether they be rats or vegetables (wink, wink), is worth seeing, so I recommend both the feature film and the short for viewing. I believe you won't be disappointed with either. |

Scary Movie 4
The opening with Dr Phil and Shaq was hilarious. Now I can't wait to see what Scary Movie 5 has in store. I personally prefer the David Zucker Scary Movies (since the first two I consider to be more sex teen comedy films than parody films).

The Mist
Good god this movie was UNBELIEVABLE! Man alive I loved it, it was beyond spectacular. I always knew and always suspected that if Frank Darabont (the director) could make movies like "The Green Mile" and "Shawshank Redemption" he'd make another masterpiece and he SO did. This movie is excellent. It's scary, creepy, horrifying, and downright disturbing. I tell you right now with the utmost honesty, this is probably the best movie I have seen this year. The actors and characters and writing are all top notch, but be warned, this movie's ending will leave you holding your jaw. This is what you call a REAL shocker ending.

No, the "big trailer" that was inside was the trailer for that kick ass new giant monster movie from J.J. Abrams called "Cloverfield".
It looks phenomenal.
