Default Sam and Max Season One

Has anyone else picked up this gem not that the full season is now sold in stores and not just downloading? I've been waiting to get a hard copy and I was sure missing out on some awesome adventure game action!

Heres the blurb on the back of the box;

Quote:
It's a vile world out there...
Get too complacent and all sorts of weirdos start coming out of the woodwork. Good thing Sam & Max are here to hose down all the sleaze and keep the peace. Violently, if possible.

Who are these irreverent crime fighters? Sam's a 6-foot tall canine shamus with a love of justice. Max is a hyperkinetic rabbity-thing with a taste for mayhem. Together, they're a team of freelance police officers, on a mission to take down a bizarre mind-control conspiracy, And they're bringing you along for the fun!
The game has six chapters; "Culture Shock", "Situation: Comedy", "The Mole, The Mob and the Meatball", "Abe Lincoln Must Die!", "Reality 2.0" and "The Bright Side of the Moon"

The game is hilarious, filled with pop culture ref's all over. I've olny played though the first three chapters (my computer needs some more memory to play it better so I'll wait until I can run them more smoothly) but that are awesome! Sam's new voice bothered me at first, but now it seems fine.

The game uses a point and click engine, you click where you want to go, you click things you want to interact with, classic adventure fun (and way better then the input they made us use with Escape from Monkey Island and Grim Fandango!)

Puzzles are well, a bit on the easy side. I can't see each chapter lasting more then 3 hours (unless you want to hear every bit of dialog like I do, it'll take a bit longer then.)

So anyone playing it? If you want more info (d/l the demo's, watch the cartoon shorts they made to promote it) check out http://www.telltalegames.com/samandmax/

It's for PC, and maybe Wii... someday... *crosses fingers*

Yes I bought it. (At first I thought you meant the animated series which isn't scheduled to come out until next year and I got all excited, lol.) I've just started Chapter 4, but I seldom am able to play anymore because its installed on the same computer I do all my video editing on and I've constantly got media work jobs processing. I framed the poster. And put the soundtrack on my iPod. I like the Soda Jerk song.

Hah, I thought you might have it Sparky! With your avatar and all ^^

I love Sybil, she's awesome! I'm not sure but I might be liking her more then Max now. Sybil and Bosco should get together! That be one awesome crack-pairing!

One of my fav things in the game is how Max just walks around uncontrollably and you control Sam. But when Max gets in Sam's way he slaps him into the sky and Max squees "Weee!"

I can't wait for the cartoon ether! I remember watching it when I was a kid ^^

Yay for S&M they were "born" the same year I was XD

S&M rule, yeah. I may cosplay as Sybil at next year's Comic-Con (and maybe even sooner, at Wondercon in San Francisco early next year), and I'd like to make a large poseable Max doll to carry. I'm getting my eyes examined soon and if I need a new prescription I'm going to try and get some frames kinda more like Sybil's, red and like catseye-esque/almond-shaped. Mostly because I like them anyways.

In the old game when Sam would walk past Max he'd just walk through him as if he wasn't there; I like how they decided to make him actually *swat* the little guy out of his way in this one.

And I fear Sybil or Bosco dating *anyone* let alone eachother!

Ooo! Good luck on that! If you do go for it share the pictures!

I'm very happy Telltale picked up the rights to the games, LucasArts and there... "There is no market for this kind of game" >> I can understand them canceling the Full Throttle game, even the people working on it said it was bad. But I think it's a good thing that they canceled their S&M game now, Telltale did an superb job on theirs.

I have to admit I'm still mad at LucasArts for that though, I haven't warn my Golden Guy shirt in years *tear* Seriously guys, Stars Wars is fun, but it doesn't need to have a million games of it x.x go back to your roots and give us some of that LucasFilms Games storytelling magic again!

May I expand this thread to cover all seasons of Sam and Max? I don't see the need to make a new one =\

Anywho! I just got my paws on Season 2 episode 3 "Night of the Raving Dead" yesterday (I'm not on GameTap so I have to wait an extra day D=) and it was AWESOME. I loved it, it's my new fave episode of the series.

I liked pretty much everything but here are some spoilers covered but by the lovely spoiler tag!~

Spoiler Below
I missed Bosco! He wasn't around for the entire episode! At the end we find out from Flint that he's disappeared off the face of the Earth! I just hope -THEM- didn't get him D=

Sybil... Sybil, Sybil, Sybil.... Why did you go back to Abe's head? Abe's head was a TOTAL jerk to you in Moai Better Blues! The monster was waaaay better!

I miss Bluster Blasters old voice/personailty D= please fix him by next episode other members of COPS!

Playing Sam and Max as Zombies is the best thing ever! They look so awesome when they first come out of the grave, and are moving like zombies =3 Adding to this, having their souls NOT wanting to return to their bodies was hilarious! They are such jerks to their souls XD

TellTale: Please give us more info on "Stinky's Granddaughter" Her storyline interests me the most XD

(This is almost done by the way)

I'm not going to read those spoilers, I can't afford to buy Season Two just now. Besides, I haven't finished Reality 2.0 yet. The money I do have is going towards Purcell's new book (the Highway reprint) and maybe a poster. I want the Season One soundtrack too. I'll see what all Telltale has at WonderCon, they say they'll have everything at their booth that's available in the online store.

While we are on the subject of Sam and Max...

Tuesday, March, 11 is the release date for Sam and Max Freelance Police: The Complete Series

I know I am only a casual fan of Sam and Max at best, but this DVD looks to be a must buy given the low price and some choice extras.

Looks like Sam and Max Season 1 is going to be seeing a Wii release this fall. I'll definitely pick this one up since I passed on the PC release.
