I think many people like to think that Mac's father has passed away, because Craig McCracken's father passed away when he was a child (I believe that's right). I also have always preferred to think they were divorced. If there is an "official source," that suggests that this may actually come up, eventually...at least in a series finale.

From Cartoon Network in Atlanta (I live near Atlanta and deal with their commercial staff on the CN Block Party comics I draw).

I do to. They probably did that to make the characters more diverse from other shows, where the parents are together & all.

I think it's obvious that the following things happened to Frankie's parents.
1. The family went to see an opera. 2. Frankie was scared by bats and wanted to go home early. 3. They were mugged. 4. Frankie's mom wore a pearl necklace. Obviously, Frankie uses the Foster's Mansion as her personal batcave. She's frustrated all the time because she'd rather be collaring criminals.

Uh... I think I need to lie down now.
Hopefully we'll get some answers to all the parent questions in the upcoming movie. |

Well Rid's suggestion is somewhat better then my theory on the subject, in which Frankie is the soul survivor of a doomed alien world and was sent to Earth by her parents in a space ship when she was just an infant.
This summer, you will believe a red haired caretaker.......CAN FLY!

I don't know if Frankie parents died when she was young, since she does mention them. They could have just been really busy and left Frankie with her grandmother for the summers and stuff. So Madame Foster could have been partially raising her. Then later on Frankie maybe decided to live with her Grandmother and help with the house. That's just what I have though. As far as Mac goes... I always assumed his parents were divorced. Probably because Mac said he created Bloo when he was three. When I was a kid I created my imaginary friend when I was about three and it was in response to my parents divorce and other stuff in my life. So I just sort of related to Mac in that way and thought it would be a logical explanation for Bloo's creation. Also I agree that if he had died there would probably be pictures of him around the house. Something else I thought was that if Mac's parents divorced when he was three then Terrance would have been Mac's age, right? So I also have it in my mind that Terrance wasn't quite the person we see today before his parent's divorce. Maybe he was an OK kid, but then Mac was born and not too long later his parents divorced. Maybe that changed him into the charming person we see today. |
