Dr. Eggman is the exceedingly lame ass name given to Robotnik in Japan. Sonic and everyone refers to Robotnik as Eggman in every Japanaese Sonic game, even though HE still calls himself Robotnik as Eggman is more of a nickname. I personally think it's a little too cheesy and Dr. Robotnik has a much more villainious tone to it.
