I picked Knuckles because to me, he's just an all-around rad character. Not to mention, his capabilities in the game are pretty different and versatile, so it puts a new spin on just running and jumping. Not that running and jumping are bad (heck, it's what made the game what it is), I just like being able to glide, climb walls, dig (in the Dreamcast/GCN games), and punch stuff, too.
It was a hard choice between him and Sonic, though, because Sonic is special. He (seriously - no kidding) was my IF when I was little. Aww I wuv him!
