I was greatly saddened to hear of the death, yesterday of movie star Roy Scheider, one of the great granite-faced American heroes of such classics as Jaws, The French Connection and 2010. My personal favourite of his movies is Marathon Man, where he's so reassuring as Dustin Hoffman's older brother. It's such a shocking bit when: Spoiler Below

He's stabbed to death by nazi dentist Laurence Olivier

So yeh. Repect to Roy Scheider. Great man.
