Foster's Valley - Season One Finale, Part One
This was the very last picture I took in the Valley before I went to Comic-Con 2007: When I got home, the game refused to start and a months-long hell began. Maybe it's just as well; had Lita followed through with what she was about to do... well, never mind. We'll never know for certain. Meet Dr. Werner von Kohl: The doctor is the Valley's leading scientist, a man of learning and logic. On this particular night he was outside with his telescope, studying the stars as he does almost every night, when he saw something unusual appear out of nowhere: Curious, he focused in on this odd thing and watched, with growing anxiety, as it plummeted through the sky and landed somewhere to the East of him, landing with a dull thud that shook the entire Valley. Werner quickly got into his car and drove to the site of the impact, where he saw something he could not explain, something corrupt and unnatural, something that did not belong here: He called it... SecuROM. It was then that the troubles started. The Valley was already suffering from corruption from other sources, problems that were only beginning to be understood at the time, but the presence of this new thing seemed to amplify the problems. The next day, Mr. Herriman became one of the first to feel the effects: Doesn't look like much, just a man cleaning a toilet. Trouble is, he was locked into doing so; six straight hours, cleaning the bowl over and over. There were cases of children floating in midair, displaced from their seats yet seemingly unaware of it: And what happened to Downtown... you be the judge: That's right; the buildings are floating free, because the ground is gone. Here's another look: Madame Foster looks over the center of town a few nights later; you can't see her face in this picture, but she is very worried. Worried, and afraid: "What's happening to the Valley?" she whispers. "What's happening to us?" There is fear in her voice... To be continued... |
