ever seen a game that was too hard for your liking?

I have the classic NES series Castlevania on the GBA and I play it on and of. I havent beaten it in the year or so I've had it. It is VERY hard. The thing is, I think I've become too used to the games of today. I grew-up on the NES and beat many of the difficult games because I stuck with them and games at that time were made for a differant breed: the old-school gamer. Granted, I am no sloutch at gameing but games today are made to be more accessable to the casual gamer. I'm not complaining, just pointing out how much the franchise has evolved.
