The "take charge" girl attraction isn't unusual, people like girls with different personality aspects in RL for similar reasons. It's not that unusual or difficult to think people could feel the same way for toons. The whole familiarity thing isn't really what I meant when I was referring to anyone can find toons attractive.

My point is notice how characters are drawn sleeker, more curved, or have legs or breasts that are depicted more noticeable then others. The fact they do that is a sign of attraction meant to be felt by the main toons or characters, so its easy to see the attraction when they design the character in such a way.

Oddly enough, some of my toon crushes have been rough, tough, action girls who honestly are not my type at all yet I've still found myself attracted to them. Kei from the anime series Dirty Pair is one, Videl and Android 18 are both harder then nails girls from the anime Dragon Ball Z and I still crushed on them too.

Its always better to find someone to crush on your more personally compatible with, but as they say "true love is blind" and "you can't help who you fall in love with". Just like when Lisa crushed on Nelson Muntz in The Simpsons, she couldn't explain it but she liked him and that's the only way to describe it.

I may take note of something that occured in the 1940s. When Tex Avery was doing his Red Hot Riding Hood cartoons, somebody broke into MGM's cartoon studio and stole some inked and painted cels of Red. Preston Blair, who animated Red for those shorts, still had his original roughs, so they merely had to clean them up, re-ink and repaint those drawings. Blair said he was honored: "Red was worth stealing. Wow!"

I'll agree with you on that one. I don't mind Gwen if she's busting Ben's chops. It's if she does it over and over again that it gets annoying.

I know what you mean. Australia has a weekly countdown show called 20 to 1, and one of the subjects they did was Sexiest Movie Moments. The scene where we first see Jessica Rabbit made the list. I don't remember what position it placed, though! I think it was at #18.

I may be alone here, but honestly I've never found Jessica Rabbit to be the slightest bit attractive. Obviously a lot of guys do, but as for me... I don't know. Women like her, or Ginger from Gilligan's Island, they've just never appealed to me. The only one that ever did was "Hot Frankie" from GWH, but that was only because it was Frankie, not because of the look itself. It doesn't work for me; I can't really explain why, though. Just one of those things, I guess.

Your not alone there, Cass. I can understand why people would be attracted to Jessica Rabbit but ladies like that just aren't my type.

Your actually not alone, I don't personally find her insanely attractive, she's not bad but she's not really "my type". The reason I mentioned her is because that's the best and pretty much only example where both humans and toons reacted so strongly with their affections directed towards a female toon.

If people ask how can you find a toon sexy, well, nearly everyone in the whole movie went jaw dropping at Jessica and if toons can't be sexy, then no one should have reacted to her the way they did. My point is that by the way she is designed, drawn, and her features enhanced, you can see attraction.

She has features that RL women do have and find sexy, its simply be turned into an animated format. Its those features that help us try to understand and relate to a toon character when we see them hitting on another toon. Take Lola Bunny for example, we never could have understood why Bugs Bunny liked her unless her figure was drawn in a seductive manner.

It helps us connect with the toons personalities but understanding where they are coming from and saying "yeah, I see how he/she could like her/him". That connection is the bridge between understanding why we like toon girls and guys and why we are "attracted" to them. Of course, its harder for some people to accept the next step into toon attraction: non human toons.

I have a friend who has the major hots for Ariel the little mermaid and Harley Quinn from Batman: the animated series, but he can't see or understand the attraction of non human toons like Lola Bunny or Gadget from rescue rangers. Me personally, I can find attraction in a toon whether she's human or not.

right on. Everytime i see a compilation of Ladies of the IDF (Israeli Defense Force) i gotta do a double take. Its cool to see dirty fatigues, combat vests and assault rifles and then this angelic strawberry blonde smiling while on patrol in a jeep.

I think the reason I find myself drawn to harder edge toon girls more often (besides physical attraction) is I have a habit of trying to find the good in everything. Tougher more "hard ass" kind of girls usually have a soft side in them and its much harder for them to bring it out and when they do, its very sweet.

Kei from Dirty Pair, Ryoko from Tenchi, or even Urd from Ah my goddess. Urd is VERY sexual and aggressive and that is DEFINITELY not the kind of guy I am but I still crush her (Belldandy as well ). I also know this is sudden having JUST seen them minutes ago, but I think I found out 2 new toon crushes.

I just saw the new CN show George of the Jungle, which I thought was stupid at first, I still kind of do. Anyway the point is they have 2 female characters on the show, one is George's girlfriend Ursula and the other is a jungle girl I never heard/seen before named Magnolia. Needless to say....they look pretty hot .

I know that must sound awfully shallow and pretty crude for me to just like them for their looks, but I can't help it, I was really amazed at how nice they looked. Not my strongest toon crushes mind you but still, I don't think I'll be getting then out of my head soon.

That's perfectly normal; after all, humans are visually-oriented creatures, programmed to respond to looks. Everybody does it. In the beginning it's usually all you've got to go on anyway. It's no basis for real love, I don't think, but it's certainly more than enough for a crush.

I may be dating myself, but I grew up on the original George of the Jungle (jay Ward studios), and I always thought the females were hot! This new GoJ is just as corny as the original - but I love it!
