Something from GWH I'm kinda interested in is "who created Stats?"
Someone HAD to have surgically removed it, because the stump still has scars from sutures or surgical staples. It would have been impossible for Wilt to have not only cut it off, successfully tied off arteries, veins, lymph nodes, etc., AND sewed the stump up, using only one hand, and no pain killer. He might be tough, but I don't think he's THAT tough or has that much medical knowledge! Like I've said before, it's a common practice after performing a limb amputation for surgeons to take muscle from some other part of the body(especially if the muscle from the affected limb was badly damaged) and use it to create a padding over the remaining bone in the amputated limb. This speeds healing because it keeps the bone end from rubbing against the skin that is pulled over the end of the stump and it also makes fitting and adjusting a prosthesis easier later on down the road. Muscle is usually taken from someplace where it's not needed as much for locomotion; in humans, that's usually from the thigh or gluteus maximus, but in Wilt's case, he has those facial lobes which are probably just muscle tissue.

I was gonna mention that flexible/stretchy or not, Wilt still has bones, so that means that his entire muscular-skeletal system is basically identical to ours. Bloo clearly states that Wilt had to have a specific broken bone X-rayed and put in a cast by a doctor, and that the doctor said he'd probably be able to take the cast off in six weeks, which is now long it normally takes a human bone fracture(unless it's really bad, or there are complications, like infection)to heal. If Wilt could not put that particular extremety in a cast himself, he surely couldn't amputate his own arm! It also shows that there was nothing "magical" about how Wilt lost that left arm following his injury in Good Wilt Hunting; it did not just "fall off" or disappear, and those suture scars show up on the distal end, as has been suggested. While Wilt might indeed push the limits of being "double-jointed", we are certainly meant to understand that he is comprised of the same sort of biological tissue that we are, and can suffer the same sort of injuries.

Oy, that last one, though-that's probably gonna trouble him more in the long run than the arm and eye!

Wow....I feel behind....it took me two days just to read all of the posts on this thread! I must say though, I like the point everyone made....and unfortuately I'm not feeling creative enough to add anything intelligent about Wilt at the moment, I just thought I'd jump into the thread on my favorite character while I had the chance.....so everyone can just ignore this post.

Not at all. The more people who are able to express their love and admiration for the most wonderful gentleman ever to grace our television sets, the better.

Okay, I?m on tenterhooks about this. Could you possibly give a few more hints about exactly which bone he broke (one which could be so much worse than losing an arm and an eye)? Put it in spoiler tags maybe? Thanks.

I'm a little curious as to what Wilt broke myself.....and who's fault it was! I have a strong feeling it was Bloo......cause you know.....I think he's broken just about everything else in the house

About wilt's "mangled" arm.I believe that just prior to the first house photo ,they took it off somehow so he'd look better for the picture, plus he probably didn't want the arm dangling about anyways.

Anyways WILT RULES

Spoiler Below
According to Bloo, Wilt broke a toe while running to catch Bloo, who had launched himself through the air with a catapult he and Mac had built as a school project. Wilt tripped over a rock and broke his toe, and with toes as long as Wilt's, that's GOTTA hurt! I've broken a toe and a foot, and it takes a LOOONG time to heal because there's always stress on it, plus, Wilt would have a tough time using crutches, with only one arm. Bloo told Frankie that the doctor who X-rayed Wilt's foot and put it in a cast said that the cast should be ready to come off in six weeks, and of course, Bloo was really proud of the fact that he'd caused Wilt to hurt himself.
