Wow, I have waaay too many to list. I'll name mainly the artists.
I liked many of Madonna's older hits (Open Your Heart, Cherish, and a few others), Michael Jackson (Thriller, Beat It..), Metallica (though I can't forgive them for the Napster thing), the Temptations, oh and many others. |

What is Retro,
I personally consider songs from the 50's to be retro. My favorite genra is Classic Rock so I am regularly listening to Music that was created in the Mid 60's to early 80's My favorite Classic Rock song is "Atom Heart Mother" from Pink Floyd When I hear the term Retro I think of Jerry Lee Lewis or Elvis. "Take On Me" by a-ha, a brilliant and awe-inspiring masterpiece.
Though I think a-ha in general is a wonderful group both back then and now, and has far more to them than the aforementioned song that has unfortunately become their lone hit. Last edited by Voxxyn; 01-08-2007 at 10:29 PM. |

I doubt that 80's is retro but I don't really care for stuff from the 50's, 60's and 70's. I Love so many songs from the 80's because they really defined a "retro" time.
Some of my personal favorites are: -Break My Stride -Walking On Sunshine -Touch -Dare -Lion's rendition of the Transformers themesong :bloogrin -Ghostbusters -Don't Worry Be Happy -Girls Just Wanna Have Fun -I'll Supply The Love -What a Feeling -The Boys are Back in Town (this could be a 90's song, I'm not sure) -Highway to the Dangerzone (same as above) -Heat of the Momant Sorry for the long list but all those are some of my favorite retro songs. Sigh... I miss the eighties...

"Retro" is awful subjective. I've rarely seen the word used to categorize music.
To a hip-hop fan, Digital Underground is "retro", even though the group was quite popular just 15 years ago. To someone who was a teen in the 1980's, Neil Sedaka would be "retro". |
