Zemeckis' "Yellow Submarine" remake sunk
Disney has dropped Robert Zemeckis' planned motion-capture remake of the Beatles' 1968 cartoon movie Yellow Submarine, citing budget and deadline issues as well as Zemeckis' current Mars Needs Moms bombing at theaters.
Zemeckis may try to shop the film to another studio. The Hollywood Reporter has more about it here.

Probably just as well. Yellow Submarine is a classic; it doesn't need a remake.

Maybe these setbacks will give Robert the incentive to get off his duff and start working on that Roger Rabbit sequel we've been waiting for like forever.
