Don LaFontaine Dies at 68
Another beloved talent passes on. We all know this man as "the guy who narrates all those movie trailers" with that distinct voice that everyone tries to imitate when replaying a trailer in their mind.
http://www.etonline.com/news/2008/09/64990/index.html I'm especially sad to this news, the guy was always there, ya know?

I literally just read this before I came here and saw this post. It's really sad. I'll miss hearing his disinct voice during those many movie trailers. He will definetely be missed.

Very sad. I knew the voice, though I'd never previously been able to put a name to it.

Movie trailer announcers will NEVER have the same huge amount of impact that Don had in the business.

Trailers will never be the same.... They might as well just be silent now. RIP Don.

I heard this on the local news this evening. I've been familiar with this man's voice my entire life, and saw his face for the first time in the Geico commercial this past year. His passing is very saddening, and I know narrations will never sound the same.
RIP Mr. LaFontaine.
