Avatar is definitely one of the best "wannabes" out there!

Akira is a fantastic anime, though a letdown if you had read the manga before seeing the film. And, if you hadn't read the manga, I'd suggest doing so after seeing the movie; it is a genuine work of art.

I haven't seen Jin-Roh, though I've heard great things about it. Tell me how it is after you get it.

so...Jin-Roh: the Wolf Brigade is an AMAZING movie!

Exceptional visuals, storyline, etc. Great imagery, too! Subtle things, like for instance, all of the Capitol Police carried Nazi weaponry. Seriously. The rebels were paching British Sten submachineguns and i think i saw an old Japanese WW2 Arisaka rifle, but the bad guys ALL had Nazi guns!

I counted P-38's, FG-42's, MP-40's, C96 Mausers, MG-42's, Mauser 98's (with rifle grenade, no less!) and of course Sturmgewehr 44 assault rifles. Such attention to detail!

Highly recommended!

ETA: even the police chopper has the word "Polizei" on it, which means "Police" in German.

4. Nadia: Secret of Blue water
5. Sailor Moon

I'm not too big on anime, so the second half of my list are shows I haven't seen in awhile, but I still liked.

1. Bleach
2. Naruto/Shippuden
3. Fullmetal Alchemist
4. Dragonball/DBZ
5. Yu-YU-Hakusho (I think that's how you spell it)
6. Pokemon (I only watched up to Jhoto)
7. Cowboy Bebop
8. Trigun
9. G Gundam
10. Wolf's Rain
