Introducing my latest project that I have not yet started on: Foster - Red and Green versions.

"What is Foster Red and Green?"

F-R&G is a turn-by-turn RPG Adventure that combines Pokemon gameplay with the Fosters Universe. You collect, trade, raise and battle monsters called Imaginary Friends (IFs) to become the IF champion.

"What's the story about?"

See next post.

"What is the difference between Red and Green?"

Like the Pokemon games, Red and Green has it's similarities and differences. What version you play depends on what type of IFs will appear.

"What program are you making this on?"

To be honest with you, I'm not sure what I want to make these on. Part of me wants to make it on Game or RPG Maker, but the other half of me wants it to be a flash game, since some people on this board have had experience with flash who can help me out.

"What is the release date?"

I don't know that either. It could take a year, two years, heck, maybe I'll just give up at not release it at ALL.

"How can I help?"

STORY

Your adventure begins as a flashback to 5 years ago. Your mother wakes you up and tells you that today you choose your first Imaginary Friend at the world renowned "Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends". Unfortunatly, your older brother (Who will be your rival) will "destroy the apartment" if he doesn't come along. Soon after your arrival, you are greeted by Madame Foster, who escorts you to a table with three Mind Balls (The Poke Balls of the game) containing three different IFs and tells you to pick one. After you pick your IF, your brother barges in and complains about how he didn't get one. When your mother tells you it's time to go, your brother unknowingly snatches a Mind Ball from the table containing the IF that has an advantage over yours. (Figures)

The flashback ends. You are eight years old now. Today is the day you first picked your IF five years ago. Your mother tells you to get something out of her car. When you walk outside, you are greeted by your next-door neighbor (Who is the opposite gender of which you picked and your friend). S/he tells you that s/he is going to Foster's to choose her IF. One hour later, you are watching TV, when suddenly, a breaking news report comes on about Foster's being surrounded by a mysterious black veil. No one can get inside, and the people that are seen inside seem to be frozen. You realize that your neighbor must be in there, and so begins your journey.

Looks nice, I see you made references to the show! I wonder what evil syndacate team you'll use, in every Pokemon game I play there's an evil group wanting to steal Pokemon and change the world.

Finally got my scanner hooked up, so now I can post my concept art!
STARTER IFs

First up, we have the Grass type Twigtwig!

#01 - Twigtwig

Next is the Fighting type, Bane.

#04 - Bane

And finally we have the Ground type Edee.

#07 - Edee

I'm pretty sure all of you can figure out who they evolve into. =P

Oh, I get it! The little ones evolve to the ones we see on the show, right? But I also think Edee should be the fighting type, know what he evolves to...

I hope you don't mind if I drew the sprite versions of them to help you out with this project...

The blue dots represent towns, the red rectangles represent cities, the purple dots are sub areas, and the red and green square is where Fosters is located. If you go two squares right and two down from Fosters, you'll be in the starting place Breezy Hills APTs.

*Inside joke. You wouldn't get it if you don't watch YTP.

Of course, that's not his official name, just a default one. You can select your own name if you want to instead. The female protagonist's name is Mackenzie. =P *shot*

EDIT: I didn't want to double post again, seeing how it got me a bit of trouble. =F

But anyway, I created a mock-up of Breezy Hill APTS.

Yes, I know, they don't look like apartments. I don't care. The apt. on the far left is your house, the second one is your friend's house, and the third one belongs to a character who I will reveal soon.

Those are spiffy, antgirl! Bane's expresion = win.

ONOS TEH DOUBLE POST AND BUMP COMBO WITH A $15 BOTTLE OF CANADA DRY! =O

Sorry for the above, but I really need this topic alive and, well, not dead. To satisfy your hunger for updates, I created more succulent mock-ups! (This sounds like it would be on an [adult swim] bumper. =P)

First, we have the overworld setup.

Now, most of you are probably going WTF? right now, so let me explain. What are you looking at right now? Not the image, but the object producing the image. That's right, a monitor! Congratulations for figuring that out. Have a cookie! Well, anyway, since PC monitors aren't your average Nintendo 240x160 pixel producing handheld, I figured that extra space could be put to good use, so 'viola! Instead of constantly having to press pause to get an item from your bag, I put all of the menu stuff with the actual game. But wait! How will you control the items when you're playing the game at the same time? This is where it gets interesting. You control the bag and IF status menu with the mouse. So if your IF is poisoned, just simply drag an antidote out of your bag and drop it on the IF. It's just like Christmas! Of course you also have the world map at the top right and your trainer card at the bottom left. Those black spaces? They are other things you unlock through the game.

I'm not done yet! I also have a mock up of the first route in the game, Route 1123.


This game has a special area known as the Highway that allows you to ride around on your bike so you don't have to wander through tall grass all the time. However, you're not off the hook that easy once you get the bike, as there will be trainers on the Highway.

Not done yet!

I also have music. Yes, music. The official theme for the game to be exact.
