Whoa, thanks so much! Between this and the fact that my Foster's season one set just arrived, this is shaping up to be a great day.

Ooh, thanks much, Sparky! I couldn't get a torrent of the Moonsong-endoded version yet, but this one did the trick until I can find it.

As for the episode itself, I'm going to agree with the majority here; not one of the best. At the outset, I was really just happy to be watching a new Foster's, and I remained pretty well-disposed to it, but as it panned out, the episode just wore me down.

Like others have said, "random" is the key word here. As it turned out, the "Bloo believes Cheese is an alien" plot synopsis that we've been discussing all this time was something of a red herring; frankly, I'd hardly even call this a Cheese episode, because that would wrongly imply that Cheese was the narrative focal point, or indeed that the episode had a narrative focal point at all. There were no story arcs or even the remotest sense of a three-act structure; what few plot strands there were (Bloo's alien conspiracy theories, Madame Foster's court case, Frankie/Mac's attempts to keep control) were handled in such a flippant and inconsequential way that they couldn't be confused for anything other than what they were, namely, devices with which to cram as many lunatic jokes, characters and scenarios as they could into the 20 minutes. This isn't actually a criticism in itself - many Foster's episodes in the past have worked on this premise with Store Wars, Partying Is Such Sweet Soiree and Camp Keep A Good Mac Down immediately springing to mind - but for my money, Cheese A Go-Go pushed the formula too far; the lunacy was too hyper (about 75% of the lines were shouted or screamed, even discounting Cheese's incessant yelling), the situations got too random (centering a plotline around a court case over a sandwich? And the bearded guy in drag? ???), and the plot too minimal (basically, crazy stuff happened for twenty minutes, then it just...ended). In this kind of environment, it's also inevitable that "voice-of-reason" characters like Frankie, Mac and Wilt are going to get marginalised and trampled, which negates the balance they normally bring and tips the show further over the edge. To be honest, by the end of it I felt a little like Frankie looked: tired-out and frazzled.

Having said all that, this is Foster's, so there were things I enjoyed. The animation is undoubtedly better now, notably in the cinema sequence; more fluidity, more dynamism, more flexibility on perspectives and better effects on things such as lighting. In actual content terms, I must admit that one of the advantages to the unrestrained madcap style is that the writers throw so much material at you that something has to stick; what stuck most with me were High Eduardo (naturally; Craig McCracken seems to have this idea that Hispanic accents are inherently funny, and I'm increasingly inclined to agree ) and lazy, indifferent cheapskate Jackie Khones (again, that voice coming out of that body is just funny, no matter what he's doing). Even though neither of them had their finest hour, I also did enjoy watching Frankie and Wilt, maybe because I really felt for them here; Bedraggled Frankie w/ Possum was an amusing visual, and I quite liked Wilt's "What the hell are these idiots doing?" demeanour. He also had my favourite line of the episode:

"Uh...objection!"
"Wh...objection? On what grounds?!"
"I...I don't know, I'm sorry."

Overall, a lower-tier showing to kick off Season Five, but I'm not worrying too much yet. I didn't feel that Seasons Two and Three started that strongly either (with Partying Is Such Sweet Soiree and Eddie Monster, respectively), and both of them went on to turn out some classics; indeed, the forthcoming "The Buck Swaps Here" already sounds much more promising to me. And when all's said and done, I'm still just glad to have the show back.

Someone look at the Court scene frame by frame, Fred Fredburger does appear!

I'm really diapointed with this episode, may be as bad as the last season 4 episode (the Goo one).

I liked it. I think the flaws came from the fact that the writers were being shoehorned into the alien theme, but it was still cool.
I liked how Madame Foster snapped and tried to climb over the pulpit to beat up the judge.
There sure are a lot of first-run B-movies in the Foster's universe. Come on, you can barely see the strings!
Of course my favorite part was stoned Ed! He looked kind of freaky with one tooth pulled, poor thing. Hope the new one comes in soon!
At first I thought that thing on Frankie's back was a rat!! I like rats.
Any Foster's is better than none. Keep them coming, guys!

BTW, the episode aired with the regular opening today (5/5), and the credits had Frankie still running errands. Sunday night and Tuesday night (5/6 and 8) will have the repeats in the regular format.

What the??? I feel like I got spun around rapidly by a mad dog on a leash. Or something.

I'd say 5/10. Okay. Not great.

What I did like....was Bloo. Such a cutie. I keep wishing I could just grab him out of the screen and hug him, no matter how much of a "doofus" (ya got that right, Mac Daddio) he's being.

Ed was hilarious. He's so honest when he's high, huh? He said everything exactly right about Mac, Bloo, and Wilt. LOL

Other than these things I didn't care for it much. Cheese annoyed the hell out of me and the alien plot was kinda stupid. But I still didn't hate it, although that could be because I'm just biased when it comes to Foster's, as a huge fan.
