Thanks, and don't worry, I'll manage. By the way, I asked and found out that they do allow cats.

That's wonderful, yay! I know you've been there, done that, but if you should ever decide to get a kitty and have any questions, feel free to ask away. I've worked with pet products for 10 years and have had kitties ever since I was six years old. And they've all lived long healthy lives.

In a way this makes my day, although in a slight way it's also a little disappointing. I like to watch PBS kids in the afternoon before the local news comes on. And usually right now is "Reading Rainbow". I like "Reading Rainbow", especially if it's an episode that's 20 years old and I remember seeing it when I was little. But our local PBS schedule just changed, and now it's "Martha Speaks" that's on in this time slot. One of my favorite PBS cartoons, it use to be on only in the early morning and early afternoon, so I usually only got to watch it when I had the day off. But now it looks like I'll get to catch it whenever I'm home by 4, which is usually half the time. That makes me happy. Now I'm just wondering when I'll ever see "Reading Rainbow" again.

I made this cake just short of a week ago, but only just got round to uploading the images. I know that, aesthetically speaking, the icing could have used a bit more work, but then I'm still fairly new at this whole cake-baking game, and icing is one skill which I've still yet to properly master. The cake itself tasted delicious (naturally, since I made it almost a week ago, it's no longer in existence), and it's a recipe which I've been wanting to try out for ages.

Anyone know what kind of cake this is? It may surprise you.

Spoiler Below
It's a tomato soup cake...though you can't actually taste the tomato. The cake itself tastes rather spicy.

Gimme Looks pretty dang good! I seldom do any baking anymore, although I do throw a loaf of bread in the oven occasionally.

Thanks. I got round to making another one last night - a "Rainbow Surprise" cake (so-called for its inclusion of little multi-coloured crystals of sugar) - only on this occasion I was sort of cheating and using a ready-assembled cake mix. It didn't come out looking quite as I'd wanted it to (the frosting was a heck of a lot messier - hence no snapshots this time), but the taste was certainly none the worse for it.

CVS dropped the price of a half-gallon of milk by 60 cents.

I got megaman X collection for the ps2 today. Its 7 games in 1, for only $20, which I think is cheap, since the place I got it from has one of the games on it alone for sale at like, $50.

I just love compilations. any time where I can get 2 or 5 or in this case, 7 for the price of one, I'll take it. Also helps one of the games was otherwise not released in america, and they are all pretty awesome games on their own.

I finally got out of the house and work for a day, and went to a reptile/exotic animal show, and scored some really good deals on some hard-to-find arachnids, including an adult female Brachypelma boehmei, or "Mexican Fireleg" tarantula, for 70 bucks, which is REALLY cheap for one of this species, especially a female! There were a lot of good deals on spiders and scorpions at this show, which was being held for the first time near Charlotte, NC.

Default Funny thing happend the other day...

And that was me Finding a cheap copy of Chrono Trigger for the Nintendo DS and having the attractive lady clerk geeking out about my purchase. Sadly this was near the end of my lunch hour and I couldn't stay any longer and continue our spirited discussion about all things Chrono, Marle, Magus and Lavos.
