Ground Force!
Anyone remember this show on BBC America? These limeys redid people's lawns and turn them into gardens, very cool. Tommy was my fav, big old bricklayer, always wore suspenders.

You gotta be kidding me!
Actually I never could stand TV about gardening though it's probably very good for me, drumming up enthusiasm amongst TV-obeyers for spending their money on plants but Ground Force raised people's expectations in a way very bad for gardeners. It's a bit harder to achieve such astonishing results without the budget and resources of a TV station. Still Tommy was a laugh but I felt sorry for Charlie Dimmock who's physical appearance turned into a national joke and it must have killed her career or turned her against telly or something because she's off the radar now. Just cos of a few pervs.

I loved that show, man, i love plants and DIY-ism. Tommy was just so gung-ho about mixing cement, sawing things, etc. Bricks wot need layin', patio's wot need cuttin'. Very manly guy.

The third guy was Alan Titchmarsh. Strangely difficult to hate Titchmarsh despite the odd way he says the word 'garden' and the fact he's now almost ubiquitous on british media even taking radio space that should rightfully belong to giants like Andy Kershaw or Desmond Carrington. Titchmarsh actually engaged in a dirty covert war with Bill Oddie over future bbc documentary revenues when Attenborough finally gives up but that's another story.

My parents used to watch Ground Force every Friday. I can't say I ever paid that much attention to it myself.
