I'm all for Wall-E, The Dark Knight, and The Duchess. I'm not as much of a movie watcher as I use to be, but I still have my favorite types, along with favorite actors and directors. Good luck to all!

Yay, Wall-E. Besides that... Heath should get it. Those are the only two awards I care about.

Yay, I'm so happy that Peter Gabriel's "Down to Earth" received a nomination for best original song.
Man on Wire was a good documentary - nice to see it receive it some recognition there, though sadly I'm not familiar with any of the competition.

Those are good nominations, but I'm not pleased that the Dark Knight was left out in the Best Picture category.
Still, the list looks good, though.

The fact that they even chose a low rated film like "The Reader" over "The Dark Knight" definitely says a lot about the Academy, doesn't it?
I'm surprised though that Robert Downey received a nomination for "Tropic Thunder" despite how the voters feel about comedy films getting any at all. Last edited by Kootiebirdo; 01-28-2009 at 12:55 PM. |
