Happy Chinese New Year!
New Years for most of us has passed almost a month ago, but today was Chinese New Year. I know we have one member living in Hong Kong, do we have any others who might celebrate it? My best friends are Filipino, and their grandmother was Chinese, so although they don't usually do an extravagant celebration, they do observe it, and I've observed it with them in past years. So I can't really help at least noticing when it comes around now days. It helps being in Seattle now, too, as there's a big parade and many shows to celebrate it up here. So, with all that said, Happy Year of the Ox!

Ox, huh? I'm a snake, not sure when my year is coming again. I think I have four more years.
I texted my best friend last night and told her "Kung hey fat choi" ("Happy New Year" in Chinese), and she was so delighted that I remembered Chinese New Year even though I no longer live near her or her sisters. She also admitted none of her other friends wished her happy new year. So I'm glad I did that!

I just now realized that my sister was born on The Year of the Ox.
