Default Uncle Pockets

Lets discuss the pocket loving uncle.

One thing about Uncle Pockets that surprised me is that his creator was a boy, I always thought he'd more likely be created by a girl.

I also wonder if Uncle Pockets will appear in another episode.

He did appear, albeit in a photo, in "The Big Picture", and his "treasure" was mentioned in "Squeeze The Day" after it was dug up...again...by Bloo and Mac.

I gotta say the guy kinda creeps me out, though. I dunno, maybe it's his resemblance to a clown, and clowns used to scare the beejeezus outa me when I was a kid, almost as bad as those flying monkeys in The Wizard of Oz. That talking in rhyme bugged me a bit, too, and even though Uncle Pockets didn't turn out to be the serial killer/stinky doo-doo head that Bloo tried to peg him as, there's still something rather sinister about him.

Well, I guess he did appear in "The Big Picture" but had no dialogue.

Have you ever seen the Disney movie "Home on the range"? Because Uncle Pockets kind of resembles Slim, the bad guy.(Off topic, Sorry!)

Didn't he also appear in one of the Foster's shorts? At least, that's what I've heard. I couldn't tell you which one, just that, if so, it was clearly one of the ones I missed.

The only thing I found to be ever-so-slightly sinister about Uncle Pockets would be that he bears more than a passing resemblence to Willy Wonka, who always creeped me out something nasty as a kid. That's about as far as the connection seems to go though. I'm contented to believe that he's as kind and as wonderful an imaginary friend as his reputation suggests, even if the discovering of otherwise would have potential for interesting plot development in future episodes. As for the whole talking in rhyme thing, well, I think he made a better job of it than I seem to remember Wordsworth from Heathcliff and the Catillac Cats doing. That guy's rhymes always seemed to be a bit more strained.

I would love for Uncle Pockets to appear in future episodes! I think he's great guy to be around with! If Bloo is still not completely convinced that Uncle Pockets is a great imaginary friend (either because he's jealous or actually suspects Pockets commiting a crime), then I'd like to see what he would come up with.

Oh yeah, you're right. In the short "Badvertisement" when Bloo is talking about the friends available for adoption, he lists some of the qualities like you'd hear when looking for a used car. Uncle Pockets appears for a second when Bloo lists the quality of having "one owner", and then corrects himself as a much younger and lesser known friend comes onto the screen.

Cool, thanks for confirming that, Lynnie. Like I said, I haven't seen that particular short. Hopefully it'll find it's way back to Youtube eventually (assuming it was ever there in the first place, of course).

Oh, yeah, I remember seeing that one. That part was funny.
