Default Comic book sells for $1M

Thought this might be of some interest to people:

Pretty amazing what some of those old issues are worth. The most I ever paid for a comic was $15.00; it was for an issue of the Fantastic Four that I had to read. Kids... . I wish I still had my old collection; some of those books are probably worth quite a bit now.

Wow, that is just something else. That'll never happen again, not in a lifetime. That's the reason why you have to be careful what you chuck away...today's rubbish could be tomorrow's treasure.

Tell me about it - I rescued an animated cel from a yard sale, that is now worth major $$$$$!

I figured the first Supeman would be worth as much.

I'm not surprised that Superman #1 would sell for so much. Think about it, at that time who would ever think to hold onto a comic book and keep it in good condition in case it would be worth a fortune in the future? The fact that a copy remains to this day is more surprising to me.
Wasn't there some kind of major rush in the 90's where everybody invested in comics hoping for something like this? I'm sure I remember hearing that people were sure that the things would make them a fortune but ended up barley being worth the paper they're printed on. All I remember is that comics were huge in the 90's.
