Shout! Factory acquires rights to Mystery Science Theater 3000 - Never Forgotten: a Foster's Home Community

Take special note of this one tidbit of information....

So not only will they be continuing to bring out DVDs, they'll also be offering episodes for download. Not only that, but Mike Nelson works with Shout! Factory on his current project, Rifftrix, where he's successfully been allowed to do MST3K riffs with some of his fellow riffers on older, as well as more recent, films of all genres. Hopefully, this'll mean they'll have an easier time negotiating with the companies who own the rights to the films they riffed on MST3K to allow them to put them on DVD. Really, I'm holding out hope that we'll FINALLY begin to get season box sets of the show.

I do know that Santa Claus Conquers The Martians is in the public domain from what I understand, so that's safe. Some films are public domain, some need to be talked to their distributors about. Tricky business show biz.
