What I'm attempting to say is, that while I may not have necessarily liked Carlin himself, I have the utmost respect for him as a comedian and entertainer. I don't think anyone could conceivably argue that Carlin hasn't, in some way, touched several lives if even slightly through his humor.
I get what you're saying. I couldn't stomach everything he said, either, but he's made some interesting points at the same time and has influence a lot of folks. Aside from Carlin's comedy routines, I will not forget his role on the two Bill & Ted films as 'Rufus'.
